Donating blood = lower oxygen carrying capacity to muscles = more fatigue, weakness for a couple days

Also you're not supposed to lift at all for a day following donating...so there's that, too.

^ yup

That's why I don't donate.

I'm O+ anyways.. there's plenty of our type giving blood :P

~O+ Crew~

I don't donate either. Healthcare already sucks enough life out of me without me giving blood.

type O negative masterrace

cannot donate because there is a positive probability a humanist might receive my blood and that is unacceptable

Made the appointment to get inked. So amped, gonna be a nice 22nd birthday present to myself.

My grandfather was in a soviet prison for 10 years, while he was in there he kept a bunch of journals. This is the cover to one of them

I'm going to get the candle bra and inkwell, one on each arm tricep right behind the elbow.

the entire thing as a whole would look amazing as a back-piece, but i dont have the balls to commit to that...yet. my parents are old school russian jews who still think that tattoos are for criminals and white trash, so that is not going to be fun, but whatever, they'll get over it.

^^ Have you talked to your grandpa about what the candelabra and inkwell symbolize (if anything). Always good to understand if its going on your body forever.

I have 3 non-lifting days a week so I should be able to schedule it around those. If it's just a little extra fatigue I think I should be okay.

I take my blood fairly regularly because I'm using it as a preliminary to design and experiment on a mutated family. But it's only 10ml so the effect is negligible.

taking a full unit once a month shouldn't have too much of an impact, but yeah you will be less fit for like a day or two after - particularly cardio type stuff.

Of course, I would not be doing it just like this, it actually means a whole lot to me.

My gramps has since passed, but as he explained to me, writing is what kept him sane in there, but it was hard to do. The journals he wrote in, he made and bound them all by himself, there was little light, writing utensils were scarce, but he still persevered and did it. I think the inkwell and candle represent that.

I make my living now as a writer, and more than that, it's my passion, what keeps me sane.

It's pretty crazy how fitting it all is.

I'm a huge hemophobe/pussy. Getting blood drawn results in near blackout/nausea for 20 mins or so. frown.gif

On the plus side, the more you act like you dislike it, the more careful they will be generally. She used a super thin needle yesterday, took forever, but hardly felt a thing.

I dunno, IME taking blood is a confidence thing. I used to find it much easier to take blood from someone who wasn't shit scared. Those people that are scared of needles pass on there nervousness to the person doing the stabbing if they're inexperienced.
