Back into the 170s

Checked BP with sphyg last night a little high but whatevs. Seen significant improvement in pelvic tilt mostly from stretching/rolling I think, so gonna go back to strength training prog at the gym and continue stretching/rolling daily to see if it continues to improve.

Dude from a forum I used to post on for a long time started competing natural at a young age, then jumped on sauce while he was still in his teens, incredible genetics and work ethic. Pretty sure he said he was already into insulin. Out of respect for his privacy I won't post his actual name, but he had a serious career ahead of him if he wanted it, not sure what he's doing today. This was him at age 18-19 (strong guy, too, he was squatting 450 for reps in the off-season at the time).

Question for heavy dead brahs; any tips to keep the lights from going out? I feel like I could go heavier but I've also had a few lifts when I'm pushing my max where I can feel myself starting to go under and I need to put the weight down quickly or risk becoming a youtube sensation.

Only piece of advice I can give you is, release your breath at the top of the lift to relieve some pressure, keep well hydrated, and be wary of your conditions (like a hot gym).

It's a vasovagal repsonse. Intra-abdominal pressure increases -> cardiac output decreases -> drop in blood pressure -> less oxygen to your brain.

If you do feel a bit lightheaded after your lift and you feel like you might black out, sit down. If it's too late, try to lean a bit backwards so you faint in that direction. Much safer going down butt first rather than face/ribs first.

Do not pull such maximal weights that there is a risk of you collapsing. Is another 20lb worth you passing out?

Hot gym worries me. It's about 2-3* hotter in my gym than outside, worried about this summer. Last summer was brutal but I was only pulling at about 70% cause of my injury. This summer is a different story though.

How about breathing while you lift? You can breathe while you have your core compressed. Like a woman giving burf

If you're doing multiple reps, yes you should breathe between reps for the most part.

But if you're doing one rep? No. You will not have maximal intra-abdominal pressure for that one rep if you're breathing in and out.

If you want to compare it to a woman giving birth, she's doing multiple pushes, but each push (rep) she has her breathe held.
