I'm wary of the 8 hour rule. I think everyone has different levels of sufficient sleep and you shouldn't be following the 8 hour rule if it's not necessary.

Also, chariy were you actually an alcoholic or just partied a lot? I go out every weekend, wonder what my liver function would be at...

Alright. Might get my levels checked then.

And yeah, my warm ups are long as hell compared to the average gym bro. Soft tissue work, mobility and warm up for the major compound lift for the day usually takes 20-25 min. The workout itself is like 45 min and then another 10 of stretching at the end.

I will have to admit I've had a bit of a drinking problem in the past. Started off by partying a few times a week, to every day, then to a point if there wasn't a reason to go out and drink, I would drink myself to sleep alone in my room. Was going through two handles just drinking at home every week at my worst point. Those days are long behind me though and I'm a better person now.

It's still a good idea to get your bloodwork done since everyone's bodies react to alcohol and anything else.

Same rule goes for sleep. I do agree that the 8 hours doesn't apply to everyone but it's a good baseline to start with. I know guys that run fine on 6 hours a night and have more energy than me. On the flip side, I know guys that need 9 to feel okay.

Yea, my workouts take anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hours total.

May try bench 100kg on flat this week. Was repping 40kg dumbbells fairly easily on flat db bench today, don't think 100kg for a few reps is much of a stretch.

I sleep like 2-3 hours late evening and then about another 4 from 4-8am. It's kind of starting to fuck with me though.

I do pretty well with 5 hours a night. Much prefer to get 8-9 though for gains

Yeah I'm probably around 5 or 6, though I'm always terrible in the morning and provided I can sleep in I usually sleep 9-10. Though after morning grogginess goes away I'm usually fine. I'm definitely an evening person, though. I love staying up late.

Not fitness related, but I found a hilarious article in the independent that I thought some of you would find funny. It's not the fact that an 11 year old probably got traumitised by scat porn or something, which I find particularly funny, but just the tone of the article is ridiculous

Please recognize that the fact that you damaged your body is NOT the same as having bad genetics.

And as for the loose skin, plenty of folks get the surgery to have it repaired.

I don't think anyone will argue with you on that.

I think you do need to recognize that some people do have bad genetics and other people have good genetics - making it easier/harder to achieve goals to become strong, big, or lean. It ain't the same level of "work hard" for everyone.

That being said, just because it's harder doesn't mean you can't achieve something great. Yea, you will need to have pure luck to have genetics (and work ethic and some Zeus juice) to become Mr. Olympia or the next Ed Coan.. but you can get pretty close with some hard work. Don't use genetics as a crutch.
