Practiced lowbar squats today. So much better till I pushed the weight up too high.

What's a lowbar squat?

I think I injured my left wrist again doing straight arm overhead cleans yesterday.

^ bar lower on your back. usually right below the traps.

how does the bar/weight stay on in that case? I am just trying to imagine how this works, unless the upper body is bent forward dramatically.

Thumbs over the bar and push your elbows up towards the ceiling - this creates a ridge between your delts/traps that the bar sits on quite comfortably. Low-bar squats are the shit.

Magician - good to hear. how goes the battle

exactly what jarude said, except that I grip my bar normally with the thumbs under.

i'd take a decent amount of breaths on the heavier sets like 3 rep sets or maybe even 5 reps set, and also on the later reps towards the end of a 10 reps set, just because I don't wanna pass out after holding my breath for the entire rep and not enough oxygen is getting to my brain

I usually only take one breathe between reps and then maybe 2-3 on my last rep.

I tend to lose focus and drive if I rest longer.

interested in y'alls opinions on benchmark strength; mainly looking for bodyweight relevant exercises, no squats for me since my chiropractor says no: heres to start the list: Perfect form front levers -- being able to hold at least 5 secs OAC (one arm chin; no grabbing your wrist bullshit) Dragon Flags
post #2579 of 57262
You aren't allowed to do squats but you're allowed to do dragon flags? My neck hurts just thinking about those bad boys.
i cant do dragon flags -___- just listed as a standard of being incredibly strong. I can only do OAC's either arm.. but thats cuz im a rock climber. I can front lever, mediocrely? <-- lol although I'm looking for some bodyweight workouts so i can spice up my off days.
