After a month of trying to develop a prettier deadlift I decided to record myself again...looks just as ugly with just as much of a back curve as before. At this point just gonna say fk it and continue pulling this way since it never causes me any pain and I'm progressing.

I just ate some ceramic or whatever plates are made out of, am I gonna die? Was microwaving some sausages and I heard a bang, looked in the microwave and the plate exploded. Took the bit of the plate out, which wasn't broken and started eating sausages. Was eating sausage and I bit into something really hard, which is most likely the plate. Didn't want to spit out the bit of sausage because thats like spitting out gains so I just yoloed and finished it.

I so happy. This is the first time I have been able to train 4 weeks straight, doing a full % cycle without my shoulder getting in the way of maxing out. So this week is my first deload week in like.. hmm.. 8months I think. I feel like I need it too!

Please don't. That was horrible. You are young now so it doesn't hurt, but it will....

What have you tried? My recommendation for these things is pretty simple i) mobility, ii) stability, iii) strength. For that first step, can you get into a good pulling position? Put a couple of plates on the bar. Stand in front of it, and have a friend take a video of you trying to get into a pulling position with a neutral spine. If your pulling position is out of whack, it's almost certainly a mobility issue, and will continue to sabotage the rest of the movement. If your pulling position looks good, and the position doesn't break down until you start moving, then it's almost certainly some sort of strength issue.

Before you give up completely, at least do this test to figure out if the problem is more mobility or more strength related. Either way, there are ways to fix it - though they will probably take longer than a month.

TKJTG buy all seasons of Sienfield and watch it while doing 2 hours of mobility a day. Thas what i do.

Coldsnap, I love your enthusiasm for mobility work, but it's worth remembering that it's not the answer for EVERYTHING. Mobility allows you to get into a proper position. Just because you can get into a proper position doesn't mean you can hold that position against an outside force, or through a compound movement. In that sense, mobility is just a first step. Like I said to TKJTG, mobility gets you into a good pulling position. After that, whether or not the athlete can deadlift with good form is a matter of strength - not just overall strength, but strength in the right places. People with poor mobility also tend to have strength imbalances that compensate. Once the mobility is improved, the athlete must commit to fixing these strength imbalances, otherwise the mobility gains don't actually mean much, and the athlete will continue to move poorly.

Any recommendations for a bench for home gym? Decided on a powertec half-rack, will be used mostly for benching as im gonna do my legs day on saturday at the gym. The ironmaster one looks good except with that removable seat you wont be able to do DB rows on it unless you keep it flat and incline bench is way better for DB rows IMO. Just need to find a mirror for the wall and some padded flooring so i can throw my DBs and i can start getting the equipment in.

Horse trailer mats work well for padded flooring.

508's look good, but I don't see a raw-like version. Would be nice as the 501's require boots, imo. Sizing was easy enough - 30's were unbuttonable, 31's were.

unfortunately, they really only make the raws in the 501's and 514's. But there are some nice dark washes of the 508's, if you feel like giving into your lesser Style Forum tendencies.
