Hmm i should measure my shoulders. They probably not that big but they continue to grow, so I'm happy.

That's all that matters, right? Means you're doing something correctly.

Exactly! That's been my words to die by for the past month: progress is progress.

Last week, 295 pounds for 5 paused reps, easy. nod[1].gif
Today should be a repeat of last week but with 300.
Also, throwing back on a belt starting next week for squats and deadlifts.
Looking for some big jumps. Hopefully repping out 550 on deadlifts and 500 on squats by March.
But for tomorrow, doing triples of 495 on deadlifts without a belt.

Amazing! You are going to get it, no worries.

I have just got back into lifting after a month break. Life has been too busy to include proper lifting time, so now I'm a weak bitch frown.gif. Well, I am not too weak, but definitely lost the good progress I made before the break. For one, my chest is smaller frown.gif and I weigh 5lbs more than I did when I stopped lifting. Plus it sucks cause I'm starting back up when all the NY'ers are flooding the gym.

I have learned that if you're going to have a random gymbro spot you, you have to give him a slow and concise walkthrough of what you're going to do and exactly how you want them to spot you.

For example on bench I say

1. Okay, I'm going to set up. Do not touch the bar.
2. I'm going to unrack the bar myself. Do not touch the bar.
3. It's going to look like I'm struggling, but do not touch the bar until I vocally say "grab it" or if the bar starts to drop down on the ascent.
4. DO NOT TOUCH THE BAR.

Basically, you have to treat him like a puppy that you're trying to teach a trick. Just keep repeating what you want/don't want.

Anyone got any tips for quick and easy beef prep? Gettin' a little tired of the 95/5 ground beef stir fry and eye of round roasts here...

Out of a lot of gymbro spotters over the past year or two I've only had one incident.

Always get bitched at when I spot people because I spot them the way I would want to be spotted, which is no bar contact unless I'm gonna get crushed, which is not what most people wants. Most people seem to want to be helped on reps they could do themselves.

That's called a compound lift.
