Especially how girls don't even lift because they think if they lift a dumbbell they'll become Jay Cutlet. God how I wish it was easy

It has been 2.5 weeks since my hip arthroscopic surgery. Apparently the tear in my labrum was among the most severe they have seen. Good news though is the cartilage in the surrounding area is very good which means likelihood of needing a replacement is low, at least in the near-term.

Still on one crutch for another 5-7 days. Strength is slowly coming back to the area - couldnt even lift my leg immediately after the surgery. Should be able to do upper body work at the gym in a few weeks, lower body will take longer, probably another couple months, need to progress with PT first. Pretty frustrating but will be better long-term, cant wait to be able to DL again without pain. Feels like I am eating the same but weight has been dropping, have lost 5-10lbs since the surgery. Going to bulk hard once I can really get back to lifting.

Here's to a quick recovery. Did you know exactly when you tore the labrum? or was it just something that appeared.

I first felt pain while doing a set of squats. Was laid up for a week but figured I could rehab through it, unfortunately I was wrong. The surgeon said that the tear was caused by an impingement on the femur that has probably been there since my bones developed as a teenager. Sounded to me like this was going to happen eventually, lifting was just what pushed me over.

^^^Glad the surgery went well, and that the recovery is going well.

Met an older powerlifting dude at the gym today. We talked for like 45 minutes and it turns out this guy is buds with Scott Mendelson. Told him I'm trying to compete and he said if I ever wanted to he could get Scott to give me some pointers.

Is this real life....

Speaking of. There is a new lifter at my gym.

Guy is new in town and is a powerlifter. 242 class, raw with knee wraps. Pretty strong too.

I'm glad there's finally someone at my gym that is stronger than me and that I can talk to about real lifting lol

His current meet PR's are 600 squat, 400 bench, and 660 deadlift. Not too shabby.

This is very weird cause the guy I met just moved too. He just did bench though max raw was in the 500's. Guess he said he herniated a few discs and doesn't pull or squat anymore.

It's so awesome to have someone to talk about meets and competitions with though.

Yeah, really nice dude too.

Btw, if you get any advice from Scott, don't except anything regarding anything but bench wink.gif lol
