Forearm and finger strength is paramount as a climber this isn't just a function debate and I train my forearms eveyday, have a campus board over the bathroom door and I am playing with a dynaflex ball right now.  On the other hand would use a bench shirt?

I'd use a bench shirt if I had shoulder issues, which prevented me from being able to bench pain free. Wouldn't really say it's the same thing as straps really. Shirted benching is a completely different event then raw.

Just measured myself for the hell of it.

Chest: 43
Arms: 15
Waist: 35
Hips: 39
Ass: 41
Thighs: 23.5

I've definitely done a recomp in my trunk. I have pretty good definition and a lot less fat on my thighs, but they're an inch smaller than they used to be. Arms have grown an inch and a half and chest has grown two inches. Happy with my progress for fairly consistent lifting the past two years or so. Makes me frustrated at all my diet failures over the years. Life on the road has definitely kept me from being stronger and more aesthetic. This coming year I'm definitely going to be a lot more focused. Less drinking, more strict with a routine and keeping better track of my diet.

Anybody else have goals for this upcoming year?

Your such a russleable gnome. I shrug to get bigger traps, I shrug with a snatch grip because i feel it more in my traps. Sorry I am not scott mendleson will never discuss bench shirts again, don't want you to be angry at me.

If I saw a guy your size strutting around my gym in a bench shirt I would probably bust a gut laughing.

My condition has gotten better so CNS recovery and workload capacity increased, so I don't need to use them anymore for when I do my 20-reppers (once in a while). Nor on my volume back down sets I do sometimes (405x10, 365x10, 315x10 after my heavy work).

Yep, at least a 550 squat, 350 bench, and 600 deadlift by May 18th in the 198's. Best case scenario would be 570/365/625.

And hopefully by year's end I'll be somewhere around 600/400/650.

It's not really a size issue for me. But if I saw someone with Fuji's bench #'s using a bench shirt I would die of laughter on the spot.

Would a bench shirt even work with my numbers? I don't think they make them with a thin enough fabric where I could touch my chest with the weight. Maybe like a shit single ply one from the 80s where they were just for injuries?

Maybe, haven't barbell benched in months, since last february or something, only db incline bench. I don't see how much bench is related to this, i said I'd wear a bench shirt if I wanted to bench and my shoulders were too torn up to to be able to bench without one.

Yup, going up 10+ lbs in 3 months to 185lbs. Hopefully be near a body weight press and hopefully fixed my bench by then.
