MobilityWOD is a great resource, and you should use it as much as you can. Kelly has a number of good tips for how to minimize the damage of sitting at a desk all day.

 

As far as the poor mobility being unreverseable, how old are you?

I'm 24. Was active up until about 16 or 17.

Yeah I highly doubt you fall into the irreversible category I was talking about before. I'm talking about guys in their 40s who've spent their entire lives inactive and immobile. I'm pretty sure you have the potential to get mobile enough to squat properly. It just takes diligence and patience. MWoD is a great resource. Find some mobilizations that work for you, do them as often as you can, learn to minimize the damage being done while sitting at your desk, and focus on squatting well versus squatting heavy. It took me 3 years or so to get to where I could squat really deep without lumbar flexion. Even now I get the occasional butt wink when I go above 80-85 percent of my 1RM. 

 

Mobility takes time. No quick fixes.
