It's worth noting that after the noob gains stage, you should be able to put on a fair amount of strength without much of any size increase - depending on your training protocol. My legs are no bigger with a 390 max squat than they were with a 250 max squat. I was never really skinny, so maybe it will be different for you. Still, if you focus on low volume sets, you should be able to minimize hypertrophy/size gains while still increasing strength/speed/stamina.
