I did it for 2 weeks then signed up with John. I only have the before, but didn't I post it to get an estimate body fat %? You dudes said like 14-16%. I have an even better before picture anyways, I had the biggest bloat in the world last week and decided that I needed to diet again and that my current macros were not cutting it.

Everyone's bigger than me on this thread, besides graphic/hulk. Which is why I take advice a lot from you guys icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif but keep in mind I competed at like 146lb bodyweight at 5 7 not too long ago, that's really skinny to start at

Though I am going to start bulking up a bit. I think I've overdone the cut a bit.

Sure, but the risk isn't as high in having decent form in pullups as it is in, say, the snatch.

You're likely not going to get hurt by not pulling yourself up so your chest touches the bar, at least.

Actually, I think I'm wrong on that. If I remember it correctly it had something to do with insulin levels.

All this arguing over what encompasses a full-range pull up...

This thread makes me so sad.

Seriously. If you can't do a pull-up, it's because you don't practice. I'm 195lbs and can do 5-6 strict pull-ups per set, and 50-60 in 10 minutes or so. I consider these pretty pathetic numbers, personally, and know a number of much bigger guys who can way more. I too started off in bands, but worked at it and continue to do pull-ups 2-3 times per week. You have to train it like you would anything else.

I'm not sure who told you that these were the requirements for a proper pull-up, but "elbows out" is a pretty terrible cue.
