It's not impossible, but at that height most of it comes down to genetics (which sucks). Can you jump pretty high now? It's so hard to say how increases in strength will translate to explosion (i.e. vertical jump). I think upping your squat would definitely help though. People always have this fear that if your legs get too big, you'll lose inches on your jump, which I find to be BS. The power increase more than offsets any increase in weight.

You could definitely get up to those weights, but I think your best bet is to first gain whatever weight you need to reach those weights then worry about cutting back to 165. You just won't to be able to recover well enough if you try to stay light when your nervous system is getting hammered by weights you're not used to.

i see. i'd like to stay stable at 165 for the sake of my wardrobe and being able to lift myself more easily. i can't jump that high. i feel like i am built more like a powerlifter than an olympic lifter. i can lift large weights, but not quickly.

i've been stuck at this 225, 315, 405 level. want to add a hundred pounds to each lift. will probably take a few years or something. i also dont want to do bulk and cutting cycles. would rather do slow gains. i'm not worried about getting 300, 400, 500 as soon as possible

Yeah, I understand that. I'm worried about getting my squat back up to reasonable levels because my legs tend to inflate. Yeah, it's just a hard call on the jumping thing. Sort of one of those things that hopefully will happen as a side effect of your lifting, but you never know til it happens.

Still pretty good lifts though. Yeah, probably a good way to go. Have you thought of doing Wendler's 5-3-1? Might fit your approach to it.

i'm trying to hire an experienced trainer to design a workout and nutrition program for me (hence my earlier question). i know some, but not as much as this guy

i've been doing 5-3-1 but tbh the numbers seem pretty random to me. i think something personalized based on progress makes more sense than just readjusting after a month long microcyle

Aeron bros... what's a good price for a used but good condition Size B? Trying to sit in an Eames chair at a desk for more than an hour is a fool's game.

Soft-boiled eggs transport easily and aren't bad cold.

LOL I always got crushed playing basketball at McComas. All the football players would go there and wreck my team.

I got a great deal for mine at $200. I scouted craigslist for like 2 years.. so I know the price range pretty good. $300 for good condition is a slightly good deal, $350 is par, $400 is meh. Also keep your eyes open for the Mira, that's a great chair.

Haha, yeah it's always a toss up who you will get. I can pretty much hold my own physically against other point guards (and I'm usually better than them, though maybe not as aggressive), but going into the paint is another story haha. Since they're still in season it's been a bunch of scrubs =(.

My girlfriend just took the most embarrassing "before picture".. got the worst bloat going on right now - 30 rolls of sushi, wonton soup, fried rice, another wonton soup (sushi restaurant sucked so I went to this chinese place that i love ont he way home), two slices of cheesecake from cheesecake factory, and a ton of water. fuck wats wrong with me.. Starting diet tomorrow, I will probably wake up with abbs on sunday with CBL.

Haha, sounds awesome. TKJTG will be able to attest to this, but whenever I leave our all you can eat dining hall on campus, I feel like I have to push my bloated stomach back in. Probably the massive amounts of milk I drink there, not to mention the inevitable 3 chicken breasts and assortment of other food on tap.

Thanks. One of my friends just bought a Mirra on cl for $200... seemed like an okay deal until I found out it was white. What an eyesore. It's comfortable tho.
