Actually in for advice on overhead press. I've noticed that static holds have helped some, but there has to be a better way.

Pressing heavy twice a week increased my press. Both over head and bench.

Ugh. As promised, here's video of the Oly Comp last weekend and it's not pretty. It's evident that I wasn't all together that day; slow and loose and weak, not precise in my movements. Also evident is my DYEL physique and my awful Oly Lifting body type with long legs and long arms.

Weighed in at 91kg that day. Snatch at 100kg was a bit back but managed to save. Snatch at 106kg just a hair forward and I get on my toes receiving but can't get control. C&J attempt 3 was ugggggly so thankfully no good video.... tried for 135, racked it and then got pinned and couldn't stand up. Embarassing.

I just went up from 185 to 215, in 3 months or so. I did smolov jr. and it worked great. in the past 2 years I went up from 135 basically to 215 for my standard press

it's your first competition dude, fwiw i think you did well. at least you totaled and put up some nice lifts. it's hard to say from this angle but maybe there's still some work to be done with scooping the bar in, as you said earlier.

new perks program at work includes a fitness subsidy - i p. much have an allowance to spend it on whatever i want fitness-wise. the only thing i cant buy is equipment. memberships or massages or whatever is fair game. what should i spend it on rhet bros? thinking of pulling a GN and hitting up the trendy yoga shack in town, or perhaps i can spend it on correspondence training. or would deep tissue happy endings be a better idea?

Who's the strongest here? knucks, chariy, ?

We should have a SF leaderboard complete with BW, lifts, and maybe a separate O-lifting board for Lagrangian and speedy so they don't feel left out.

Maybe Smolov can be the trick for some people. This guy crashed and burned on it:

Guys, I have some form problems.

I have this thing with my right leg being 0.5 longer than the left. It almost looks like my right hip bone is sitting higher than the left. However, this is causing problems with my squatting form.

Whenever I go for a PR, my hips start to shift out to the right on the last reps of the set. My right knee also looks like it is sitting higher when I'm at the bottom of the squat. Pretty hard to explain, but it feels like my right leg is doing more work.

I also got a problem of doing a good morning out of the bottom when I go for PR's. I use a low bar setup and the form is usually corrected on the second and third set where I for some reason seem to have better form (I drop the weight 5 lbs or so sometimes). I always do one or two warm up sets but maybe that's not enough? Is my core to weak? I feel like my legs aren't doing enough work when squatting. More sore in upper and lower back afterwards. Time for serious hip mobility work and deloading with form correction to more upright chest?

Did RDL's and could only go to rep 7 of 10 before my grip gave out. Had lots of energy left but couldn't hold the bar. Static holds are my best bet? I should go as heavy as I can possibly hold but for how long should I hold it at each set?

Thanks

Can you use it towards the online trainer at IA?

Go see a specialist and determine what causes the leg length differential. You're going to fuck yourself up without addressing this issue
