Only thing I take now is casein / whey. I should just use my leucine and creatine since I have em, but always forget. Meh.

Cretine is the hardest for me to remember to take. I take it in my coffee when i remember it because mixing it with my PWO shake always made me queasy.

I've read that ppl get mixed results on mixing creatine w/ caffeine but I'm not gonna worry about it. I might take some dumb fruit-juice creatine mix when i run out so i can just make a cup of that and sip on it.

Never said LBM wasn't one of them. You don't need "max natural attainable muscle mass" to total elite. I've seen plenty of guys total elite that didn't like huge or jacked or anything. I'd say technique and neurological adaptation is far more important in the grand scheme of things than LBM. With hard work and consistency, the average guy can put enough muscle on to get him to an elite total.

One of the things that is very important in achieving this is being in the proper weight class for your height. I see a lot of 5'10" guys wanting to stay around 175-180. Which is fine. But if you want to total elite, you may not do it in that weight class. Also, this may require cutting weight, but that's all a part of powerlifting. And like I said before, it may take some a couple years. It may take a decade or more for some people, but it will happen given that people doesn't suffer major injuries along the way.

I say the average joe 5'9" competing in the 198s can hit a 525/350/600 sooner or later if he has the right mindset.

Sticking by my belief that anyone with average genetics can attain an elite total given the right approach to it.

I used to have the queasiness problem too until I switched to a micronized creatinine. It sits MUCH easier and isn't too much more expensive.

I'm gonna go out on a minor limb here which is suggested by online max LBM calculators: Smaller framed individuals cannot naturally reach 198 at 5'9. So you're either talking steroid elite or, again, a much smaller subset of the population than you are willing to recognize.

Not 198 of LBM.

There are other ways to get to 198 naturally (bodyfat and water). You'd be surprised how much just pure bodyweight, regardless of what kind it is, plays into leverage.

And once again, I don't think it's nearly as important as technique and neurological adaptation. Most people won't need to maximize their LBM to total elite.

Shitty Peter Pan peanut butter. They sell it in 6lb containers at Sam's club. It actually tastes pretty crappy and has a horrible texture to it. But dem macros.... icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

That's 13 lbs shy of even getting to the correct weight class, as you are suggesting. Leverages, ok. Maybe 185 5'9's do total elite, but less likely, right? This is your suggestion, right? And if it is less likely, you must accept the bell curve line needs adjusted. Again, my point here is not to get you to admit anything or change your general opinion on the subject. I am simply suggesting that the bell curve includes more than disabled people.

edit: Also, what about low test? Not sure what percentile of the population will be diagnosed with this eventually. Even without a low test disorder, surely the ability of males to go from zero to elite declines decade to decade.

seriously, i have 3 tubs of it sitting gathering dust in the cupboards and only recently re-realized how calorie dense it is. i hate eating large amounts of food so i am thinking of measuring out 5 tbsp per day for an easy 500 cals.

New gym opened about 25 minutes away from me:

 

 

Thinking about checking it out. Looks less brutish than the other place. Like $800 AUD a year so wouldn't train there regularly, but might do a few 1-on-1 sessions to get some tips on my lifts.
