Hex plates suuuuuuuck. They had them at 24 Hour Fitness when I was a member there. Pretty frustrating to DL with.

Hate this new gym. It's horrific. They have no box and for some reason the barbells are chunky as fuck. They must be like 55lb bars. Cannot get them to sit in my upper back and I can't front squat with them because they crush my neck. Even the pull up bar is ridiculously thick. Also the new rack is too narrow for me to squat in. I legit hate it, considering just disregarding the $70 I spent and looking for somewhere else. Fucking hate hex plates too. Has like multicoloured flashing lights too. I've never experienced how retarded personal trainers can be either. Fucking spastic teaching some guy how to "clean". Benches have no low incline. Just flat, 45, 90 degrees. The one shitty rack has barely any pegs. Either have to get really low under the bar to unrack it or it barely touches my back. Pull up bar only has either neutral grip or really wide grip. I don't know what I can do there. The rack and the barbell are the most annoying things. Why would you make a rack so skinny? I can't even walk the barbell out past the rack because it doesn't have pegs for the outside.

Fromage frais has great macros. 8g of protein, 2g of carbs and basically no fat per 100g. Just had 500g with some frozen raspberries, splenda and a bit of cinnamon. Also it's a pound for 500g so like a 3rd the price of fage with similar macros.

also ASOT sucks now lol. armin's playlists circa 2006 were pretty sweet but now its horrendous. if i hear one more girly-man emo piano trance interlude im going to break something. until then its amon amarth all day every day icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Yeah, must to have music, if only to drown out the man in my eyebrow who keeps telling me that we're tired and should go home now.

ASOT is still better than almost anything I find. Plus, its a LONG set so I can just leave it on and not have to worry about shit. That's why I brought up the XM/Spotify stations. Shit like that, or whole albums, are perfect for gymming.

Also, no metal. This a strictly a metal free zone.

Can someone recommend a good substitute lift for upright rows? I'm getting bored with them.

Also, what is this?

Not an exact substitution, but hang cleans overlap a decent amount with upright rows. They always work my traps a bit more than my lateral shoulders than upright rows, though.

An asshole. Please refer to couch thread.

Need some advice on squats. My squat is ridiculous in comparison to my other lifts and I'm having trouble improving. I do have issues with flexibility- at full depth, I really have to lean forward to get there. However, I also feel that I need to lean forward to simply keep my balance. I know my weight should be on my heels, but I just can't seem to get it there at the bottom. Would it help to focus more on front squats for awhile, as it forces you to keep upright? I've also done box squats, but they didnt seem to help me improve.

Are you sure you did them correctly?

Also, leaning forward isn't particularly bad depending on your squat form and how much lean you have. It's still very possible to have body lean and have the weight on your heels.
