Fasting supplements?

I am sick and tired of travel, missing workouts and not hitting my macros..

Starting today, I WILL figure out a way to do every workout and hit my macros EVERY DAY.... this I swear...

Rant off...

I've been on that same ride lately, bro. Good luck figuring it out.

This week was the first week ever I hit every single macro for every single meal. No cheating. I feel fucking awesome - carbs are low, lifts are getting higher, and bw is remaining the same. Re-comp seems to be going well!

Not trying to rub shit in your face, just sayin

Had my class reunion on friday, so I did a full-body power workout on fri am, then basically forgot about my diet for the next 1,5 days. As befits the occasion, I got pretty hammered on friday and then spent my entire Saturday nursing the inevitable hangover, basically eating junk and watching crappy movies.

Imagine my surprise when I woke up today and actually look quite a lot leaner than I have in a while. I was fully expecting to see the Pillsbury doughboy staring back at me in the mirror, but no - I guess there's something to those dirty refeeds after all, huh?

nah you're not getting what i'm saying.

before selling the product you could get a bunch of bacteria to consume and change the amino acid profile.

it's like with lentils; if you sprout them before eating they have a different amino acid profile (more of the essential ones).

I quite understand the methods and various efficacies of proteins processing and manipulation.

I always look leaner the day after a cheat- especially when I spend the evening with Mr. Al K. Hol

There's long been the theory that if you're cutting or eating clean for a period of time, you can actually enhance results by the occasional caloric surplus day. A lot of people use this to eat basically whatever they want. Some people have built programs around this idea (i.e. Cheat Your Way Thin) while others such as Chris Shugart advises that those refeeds still be comprised mostly of "good" calories, and not just shit.

I'd only go with the former camp once I had a lock on legitimately clean eating as my usual way of eating. In those cases, the cheat day can provide a nice psychological break before you return to your normal way of eating. If you're not there yet, then I side with Shugart's school of thought, which is a day of atrocious eating makes you prone to relapse and extend that cheat day into cheat days, weeks, etc.

Over the last several months, I've moved from craving fast food/junk food a lot of the time. I know that if I have something like that, I can usually return to my regular diet the following day with relative ease. Fast food burgers no longer taste good to me, a lot of tortillas you get at Mexican restaurants now obstruct the flavor instead of enhancing it. Stuff like that.

So I decided to experiment with a real cheat day on Friday, since my calories and macros had been well in check for six or seven days. Here's what I had from 11 a.m. to about 10 p.m.

- Whatchamacallit (I can't remember the last time I had one)
- 2 hard tacos / cinnamon twists from Taco Bell (first visit there in maybe 2 months)
- 4 ounces extra lean ground beef with shredded cheese
- 4 slices deep dish pizza
- Snickers brownie ice cream sandwich
- Tollhouse cookie ice cream sandwich
- Twix ice cream bar

I woke up the next morning feeling great and my love handle area was an inch less. I followed that up with pulsing protein throughout the day yesterday (mostly whey shakes). Still the same size around that area this morning. FWIW, I had been kind of stuck at the prior measurement for several weeks, despite mostly good eating.

So I just taught my buddy how to do the main lifts at his gym. He goes to the equinox in chelsea (very gay area of NYC). There were only two power racks in the entire gym, but yet, everyone in the locker room was in great fucking shape (nohomo) Also, it looked like all of the trainers there were teaching people to squat onto the a(box squat basically). It actually makes sense to someone who's not going to worry too much about form, because it forces really strict depth. Then again, some of the dudes were rounding their backs when they sat back up so maybe not.

Just held an L-seat for 10 seconds.. .I am stoked! I have the core strength to do this.. need to work on stretching my hamstrings. That's my weak spot. If I can work daily on hamstring flexibility, I am sure my L-seats will improve drastically.

NICE! Same issue for me: ham flex.

I've become addicted to the foam roller for this and other reasons. It is really helping my flexibility.
I hit one for several minutes post-cardio and sometimes post leg workouts.

I'm going to try the foam roller thing again as well, as my pathetic attempt to do a basic downward facing dog yoga pose exposed my lack of posterior chain flexibility.

CG, what's your foam rolling routine? Any good references you can point me to? I have a foam roller but I'm not sure I am using it correctly.

I'm just teaching myself as I go along, basing it a little on some yoga experience and combing with basic stretches.

Things like:

For me the trick was making sure most of the weight is on the roller, not supported in some other way.

Rolling the calves can hurt like a MF!
