This is where I think the arch comes from.
Any tips to help improve of just feel more comfortable with the weight low on my back would be great.
Sorry the video is sideways...

*** Damn you dressedforsuccess for posting bench numbers for what I was squatting today. ***

Can't tell if it's just the angle the video is taken, but judging on your foot and knee movement it looks like you're really going up on your toes. You're also not getting full depth, probably due to going up on your toes. This would also explain the back issues you mentioned, as you can only really straighten out your back as a lever if your center of gravity is further back.

You can test this out/remedy this by putting 5 lb weights under your toes, which should really exaggerate the motion if you're actually doing it.

How can I eat sardines is the least disgusting way with minimal carbs? Might just pan fry with some oil and pepper.

I think pilots getting great depth, way past parallel.

^with a vinaigrette sardines are great. especially with a salad or other things like roasted eggplant

@knucks part of it is my hips are so inflexible, ideal form on deadlifts and squats is not comfortable (at the low point i have trouble keeping my knees out). part of it is i want to get better at isometric holds like l-sits and things like press to handstand.

thanks for the info guys

i generally start with active stretching (ballet exercises) as warmup, but i wanted a concrete program that would get me more flexible. i think i might see if the one nearby has vinyasa or iyengar

Here, grabbed a screenshot of what appears to be the bottom of his squat (Youtube doesn't allow frame-by-frame so this is the best I could do). Rotated it too. Doesn't look past parallel to me, and his heels are coming up. His center of gravity is too far forward because of it.

Again, could be the angle of the video, I can't really tell. A side shot would determine if the bar is over the center of his foot.

I'm not bending my head sideways to watch that video -__-

Had 2 packs of sardines pan fried with olive oil, onions, tomatoes, lemon juice and sriracha. Was good and very easy to eat. 50g of protein, took like 5 minutes to make.

Someone was watching me C&J today. After I did 125kg for a few he said "Dude, that's really impressive." I don't lift in an Oly gym so I don't think he realizes just how un-impressive it actually is, but I blush.gif anyway.

Oly lifting is the only time I ever wish I could take a few inches off my 6'2" frame. Sometimes I'm like ffffuuuu.gif "I have to get this weight 7 feet in the fucking air!"

I'm even the "tiny one" amongst my siblings.

That might be really fucking stupid to do but that's actually cool to watch.

When I warm up with 225 I completely bottom out. When I move up weight I try to stop at parallel or just past. I def agree with needing to "sit back" more into my squats. If i do the movement too fast I def can get up on my toes. I remained pretty flat-footed through most of that video though. Still going to try to get deeper and sit back more into my squats though. Any more critiques?

You're going on your toes because you're not shooting your hips back. Hips back first, then descend. Also, keep your chest higher. It's going to help shift the weight back more.

And you shouldn't remain pretty flat-footed through most of your squat. Should be THE WHOLE TIME.

Also, if you're going to cut depth at parallel for your working sets, then do the same for your warm ups. Warm ups are for getting your muscles primed and warm. But imo, more importantly, it's so you get your technique warmed up and dialed it before you hit heavier weights.

IMO yoga will not help. You're better off doing dynamic warmups catered to wahtever you are doing that day, static stretching after your training.

I like to just put hot sauce on them and eat them out of the can. Tastes good man.

Usually get pretty sick if I eat cold food. Not physically sick, but it makes me gag. Not all foods, just most of them.
