Random health and exercise thoughts - Page 920

Squatted today for the first time in probably 4 or 5 weeks. Warmed up well and did some stretches, did working sets at 60kg 3 x 5. Hip flexor pain got gradually worse. My whole hip area is so unstable and its a real effort to force the knees to stay in position. Foam rolled and stretched when i got home, its still hurting. I dunno what to do because im on a bulk and cant do the best mass building exercise properly. The other hip flexor is fine and doesnt hurt at all.

I suggest recording your squats for some of us to look at.

Please explain this. As a chinese person who likes DB rows I would be most interested.

Conventional deadlifted 140kg, I know thats absolutely shit, I've only been doing them for a week, form feels so awkward.

Will do, i've already done it once and people said there wasnt a lot wrong with it. My legs can handle a lot more weight, but the hips always give out which lead to this injury that i now cant get rid of.

I do, mostly tack them on the end of my session where I do some of the more miscellaneous stuff.

If you can't squat you can't squat, there are other less effective ways to put mass on your legs.

Yeah, might have to resort to leg curls and extensions. Cant even do leg press now. Its hard to go on all out bulk without squats though.

Just got back from the gym a little bit ago. Second session with knee wraps and I'm slowly getting used to them.

Another PR. 395 for 2 sets of 5.

Next week, 405 for 2 x 5.

Got my conditioning day tomorrow, will do more prowler sprints, maybe some yolk walks and not too heavy squats afterwards if I can deal with it. Come at me squatting 3 times a week, prowler 3 times a week, deadlifting twice a week on a cut and making gains, sadly my bench is dropping ridiculously fast, feels kind of bad man.

At the risk of looking like a giant poser, squatted in squat shoes for the first time last night (usually in Chucks). Only noticed two major differences (there are probably more but I'm not that perceptive)... much easier to drop well below parallel and much harder to tell if I'm sitting back far enough vs having my knees come forward.

-.- squats... Spring breakers yelled "bubble bubble bubbleBUTTT" at me when I walked past them at the beach

oly shoes are generally better suited to a high bar squat, and in a HB squat you're not sitting back and your knees will go a lot forward
post #13798 of 47285
Nah, oly shoes are gennerally better suited for guys that squat with a close, close-medium stance. Bar position doesn't matter too much.

I squat low bar and do much better with weightlifting shoes because of my stance (slightly wider than shoulder width.
