Everything in moderation. 5-6 days out of the week I'll eat tons of veggies, grains, proteins, but I typically have one or two days a week where I eat out.
You don't look 165 in that pic.. How much extra weight do you feel like you're carrying?

Not a ton. I could maybe stand to lose 5 lbs? At this point i don't really care all that much about getting a better physique (the picture makes me look more like shit than i'd like. I look pretty built while wearing clothes) but rather being more athletic (that's me in a medium hanes t-shirt).

The one thing i'd love to improve is flexiblity. I'm going to see if i can wake up early enough to go to a morning yoga class. Yoga 2-3x a week + Getting my barefoot Running distance up + Beach Muscles lifting should occupy me for a good chunk of spring. KB stuff is fun but I need a change-up.

I'd really like to get my shoulder flexibility up so I could scratch my back frown.gif

Wish I weren't so lazy when it comes to this kind of stuff.

for what its worth, many people underestimate their "flexibility/mobility"

when under load, its more stability issues than anything.

as far as pics go, ok i'll play

Looking thick!

Oh and we're bodyweight twins today (was 191.6 after my second crap this morning).

My shoulder mobility is really that bad. I can't hold an overhead squat position because of my shoulder flexibility. And because of that, I can't do a full snatch - only power snatches.

Alright, I'll play too as long as everyone's contributing.

Haven't lifted since Monday so not as swole as I'd like, but nonetheless. 6', 195ish.

Quick question:

I’m a skinny bitch looking at starting weight training. I remember there being a thread for this on SF, but I can’t find it anymore. I’ve got a sample of Starting Strength on my Kindle which I’m going to read this weekend. My question is: Will I be able to do barbell exercises on my own or will I need a spotter? I don’t know anybody else that lifts weights.

yeah man, real thick mid body..years of deadlifts have added to my waist as well. i used to be a 29" LOL.

as far as shoulder mobility goes, if you cant use a wooden dowel/broom, grab a mini band and start with should dislocates daily

Yeah, can't use a wooden stick yet.

I do them with a #3 or #4 depending on how my shoulder feel that day. But only do them twice a week.

Doing them daily is a really good idea. Thanks. I should do them each time I get up. Probably a nice way to start the day.

If you squat and bench in a power cage, no need for a spotter.

and OHS if you're not comfortable with it. Just remember that the 3rd pull is key. It matters fuck all how high you can pull the bar if you can't get under it.
a good 3rd pull drill is to do a 'hip snatch' which is basically a very high hang snatch.. you put the bar in your hip crease or a few cm below and then pop the hips and receive it like you would a snatch.
you can also do combinations such as snatch + drop snatch +snatch balance + few OHS

I was just raising the bar off the ground from a deadlift position. I can't actually use any weight because of my shoulder blade problem but I do want to try and strengthen that if possible. I only managed to bang out 6 reps with just the bar before it wore out on me.

Oh, forgot to mention I banged out 6 pushups with 115 today.

OK, just have to check with my local gym to see if they have one. Thank you.

tbh, I look like a skinny little bitch. Idk if you guys could tell in that video. I want to end up at 85kgish (187lbs) but if I really want to be competitive my coach says I'll be a skinny 94kg (207lbs), which is absolutely crazy.

Also, how does stinger only bench like 150? He looks pretty strong. I'm pretty sure I could put up atleast 190-200 even though i haven't benched in 6 months.

everyone starts with the bar, doesn't matter. The snatch requires quite a bit of shoulder flexibility and ofc you need to have a lot of mobility in your lower body as well. Just avoid like the plague the dreaded crossfit 'I'm a hawk' OHS where your back is almost horizontal when you OHS.

A good stretch for that is hugging a corner and putting your arms up in a Y against the wall, then just slowly inch your way toward the corner while relaxing your shoulders. When you feel it's working, just hold it for a while.

Yeah. I'd have to gain a good 12 kg too to hit my 'optimal' class of -85.

Oh yeah, Adell just quit too. Not looking too great considering London.
