Can you point me in the right direction of information on a good 5 x 5 program? Is it as simple as doing 5 reps of 5 and increasing weight each time?
Edit: I guess Stronglifts 5x5 is the right place to look, thanks search button

Try Starting Strength. You'll get stronger faster.

Read the book, it's excellent.

you must videotape yourself doing single legged bosu ball squat with kb press while balancing a chained BB in your off hand and a shakey stick on your free foot. only then will you escape the shame that these finnish heathens have brought upon you

Minor BJJ skills did not serve me well, DE leg work did though, got jumped by a bunch of big lads because my friend told one of them he looked like a gay oscar wilde because he tried get on his gf. I came out fine, but my mates a bit bloodied up. Just fucking sprinted as fast as I could, fuck trying to get some 220lb guy to the floor whilst his mates are around him.

They needed to get on the oly lifts. If you can't out run a drunk 18 year old in skinny jeans and dress shoes who had a ME squat/deadlift session a few hours before who has his phone in his hand calling the police (who came and arrested them) then your pretty shit to be honest.

This does not compute. That is definitely not how weightlifting works.

If that were how it worked, then resting would just be "acclimating your body" to doing no weight at all.

I used to be a bosu ball squatter like those dudes, but I took a barbell to the knee.

Helped my parents move some book shelves and boxes full of books. Had to deadlift a few of the heavier, bulkier boxes. FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH.

How to do floor GHRs? My gym has a legit GHR machine so that's easy, but at home I just have... chairs. And a couch. And an exercise ball. Not sure if my hammies just aren't strong enough for off-the-floor, even though I can do weighted GHRs on the machine.
