So no warm up or anything? You're going to fuck up your shit with PVC pipe. You need something with at least a bit of give.

Good call.... weighted dips FTW.

I am hovering at about +80lbs for 5 reps. Hope to push it up to +100lbs by the end of the year.

Jesus, how do you find the time with a job? Also, my random thought: My roommate clicks off sub 6 minute miles no matter how far he's running (seemingly). 6, 10, 15. His goal is a sub 3:00 marathon within a year. F'in hate his endurance. I can do a sub 6 mile. One mile, then I realize I hate running and stop.

Yeah dude, before I was doing BW dips exclusively I was able to +75lbs. for 4 reps. I wanted to work on getting the bw dips up to a certain point, so I imagine I should be able to do work with weight now.

Kunk, you ever use tennis balls? Before I could mentally get myself to shell out cash for a glorified pool toy, I used a couple of tennis balls to work over those tight spots.

I'm looking forward to school resuming. I'm finished with school, but train on campus. They've had shortened hours during the week and have closed down completely on Saturday and Sunday.

It'll be nice to entertain two-a-days on Saturdays again.

How long does it take you to do the workout + core + cardio?

- Javelin raises are one of my favorite exercises these days.

- FWIW, I only rest about 30-45 seconds between sets. I'm probably using close to the same weight for a lot of exercises I was using a year or two ago when I'd rest for 60-120 seconds. It's a bitch with stuff like lunges, but with most other lifts, I only find myself really struggling to finish sets near the end with the shortened rest periods.

I think a lot of people take way too long in between sets under the guise that they are lifting a lot, so they need to rest a lot. If it works for them, fine, but I think my lifts have gotten better by giving myself less time to rest in between instead of more.

- Unrelated, but there's this dude who's lifting every day I'm there. He does lots of compound movements, so props to him for that. But he wears the exact same thing every day and there's no way he ever washes those clothes, because he's one of the foulest smelling people I've ever been near. That includes the homeless, and I say that in all earnest. He looks like a pretty normal dude, so I'm not sure why he's alienating himself from everyone at the gym by literally leaving a stench behind anywhere he walks.

"Tighten everything" is the best peice of advice i've gotten in a long time. I've easily surpassed my squat, military press, and bench press, and come tuesday (most likely) deadlifts just by doing shit like tightening my abs and glutes.

I just checked it out on youtube. Its a 1 arm dmb shoulder press. What's so special about it? Kunk man you've got to get into some yoga. You're stretching obviously isn't cutting it.

It's usually not done with a DB, but with a BB. A press with added instability is great for activating the shoulders.

My gym is open again after a one week closure. F'in love angry deadlifts. I don't lift a lot compared to some of you guys, but it's my favorite stress reliever. Something about lifting something (somewhat) heavy off the ground is an awesome feeling. My favorite exercise. I also just watched Pumping Iron.

I've never done them but i'm guess the imbalance means it adds a bit of oblique work in there. Also i think you'd be able to extend the shoulder further since you could lean your head to one side.

Gotta love 'em deads man.

Also, the 320 lbs I ranted about earlier. Pulled a double with that sucker today.. am well pleased now. And no, I don't compete, just think it's fun to progress to heavier doubles... something manly about it (although my lifts may not be ).
