Being from the Upper Midwest, I'm always amazed at how fascinated people are with snow. When we had hail this summer, my Saudi students all ran outside and -- I'm not making this up -- ran around and danced in it like little kids until they realized it hurt.

Well, to be fair, they probably think the same of your clown ass at the beach.

We don't have much up here. Sort of unusual. Apologies for the house in the background.

It looks like more snow is coming. 3-6 inches tonight in the DC area followed up by perhaps 2 feet of snow this weekend.

I had a similar experience the first time I saw snow. I was 12, and as soon as we had the chance my brother and I started a snowball fight. It only took a couple of minutes before we discovered that no gloves plus handling snow equals pain. To compound matters, I ran inside and attempted to warm my frozen hands by running them under hot water.

It works both ways, though. When I lived in Florida I remember northerners being absolutely amazed by the light show put on by the afternoon thunderstorms that rolled through every day in the summer.

We had 5" this weekend. I love it. I wish we had a 5-6" snow once every year.

I'm not sure how I'd like to live in the Snow Belt though

What's a clown ass? And why would I show my ass to my students at the beach?

We get those too, though not nearly every day.

I don't know about the rest of the DC area members but I am sick of the snow already.

My folks who live in the southeast have been telling me about all the snow. As for these parts, we've not had much, but it surely has been cold. Fortunately for me, I'm headed to warmer areas for a few days.

Apparently this amount of snow is unusual for Nashville.

So much for shopping in Pentagon City tomorrow I guess. Will spend my day off at home. My backyard about an hour ago-
