I am a big fan of All Clad - pricey but fantastic to cook with.

Same here. Great pots and they heat very evenly. Extremely durable in my experience. Get the non-stick.

Bloody expensive, but if you can afford it (or find it on sale), nothing beats ScanPan ceramic titanium: http://www.scanpancookware.com/

Copper is great.

The copper pots and pans made by Alessi are excellent.

Cast iron also from Alessi

Stainless steel made by Iittala

Plus a half-dozen pots and pans. Just picked these up at auction a few weeks ago, still need to clean them up. fuxoring with the image settings made the entire room look blue, and the copper look funny

Nice. They look a bit like Mauviel.

We love our Mauviel and use it everyday.

We gave our all-clad non-stick to goodwill, the 'non-stick' was coming off (partially due to the use of the wrong utensils with it) and we got concerned. Sometimes I miss non-stick, but not often.

Had a set and returned them for defects. The coating blistered on two pieces in less than a month.

Arced, glad to hear you found something else that you liked. Prior to the non-stick issues, how did you like the All-Clad cooking wise? It seems like a pain when you get started, being selective with utensils, but it became second nature after awhile.

When you decided to switch, was there anything in particular that lead you to select Mauviel? Thank you in advance for the thoughts!

Good stuff.

I've been wanting to try the copper.

My parents recently bought a set of J. A. Henckels' stainless steel pans and loved it.

Don't get non-stick. Once the bottom gets scratched and the Teflon comes off...

Wow, that Iittalia stuff above is gorgeous. A value priced alternative to All-Clad is the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro line. http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-Mult...2471028&sr=1-1

I bought same Anolon set last year for an identical price. I was using a non-stick set from Macy's Tools of the Trade prior to my upgrade. I also own a 12" Circulon skillet which I really like. My parents own All-Clad Stainless Steel cookware which does a nice job cooking but it is a major headache for cleaning. The Anolon set is a nice compromise given that it performs relatively well in the performance department and remains incredibly easy for maintenance.

Caphalon would be my only other recommendation. The All-Clad non-stick pans might also be another alternative--the LTD line was discontinued or updated last year and odd pieces/sets often appear at discounters.
