I hope KStew has the acting chops to pull the role off. Seeing her in Twilight and Adventureland.... she's like a piano with one key.

Funny, I was just rocking out to JJ and the BH not an hour ago.

I doubt very much that KStew has what it takes. I have a feeling that it will be a sanitized Hollywoodization of real rock n roll brought to you by the same chicken shits that sold Ashley Simpson as a "Bad Ass Rock Chick."
I would love to be proven wrong as Joan Jett is awesome and she deserves her due. The silver lining is that it might expose the Twilight generation to real rock music made by real rock women.

I believe Joan Jett had some sort of creative control in this, whether that's a good thing or not remains to be seen though.

She did, indeed.

There's a lot of pics of her on set with KStew. Apparently, she gave pointers to Stewart.

Just saw the movie. Well acted, KStew was perfect as Joan Jett. She had the whole thing down - body language, tuff chick sneers - no question she spent a lot of time on the role. She definitely carries the film and (not surprisingly) is the most sympathetically portrayed character.

Not a bad flick, but I don't think their story is interesting enough to warrant the making of a film - A band toughs it out together, makes it big, breaks up over jealousy and drug abuse.

Nobody laughs in the movie - hell, nobody smiles. It could have been lightened up a lot. Many opportunities for witty dialogue lost. If you've ever seen the 1982 underground classic "The Stains" you'll have an idea of the tone of the film. And speaking of 1982 movies, look for Damone from "Fast Times" in "The Runaways". Actually, listen for his voice because he hasn't aged very well.
