What colors do you like for cashmere sweaters? - Page 15

I read some mentions of "heathered cashmere" and "heathered color" . As english is not my first language, can someone explain what this is or post an example? Where does someone buy "heathered cashmere" sweaters, is any of the Lockie colors "heathered"? Thanks

"Heathered" means simply not a single solid color. Usually it has lighter and darker shade mixed in.

In the above link, colors like artichoke, grebe grey, and oatmeal are "heathered" while colors like gypsy and black are more solid.

Likely story. You probably broke their factory.

Not an implausible concept.

I think white will go with almost anything.

Well, the colors really depend on what colors look good on you. It would vary by person depending on their own natural coloring.

Assuming you're a winter color scheme, simple black and dark red are hard to go wrong with...and will tend to go with just about anything.

Just took delivery of 5 of the Shetland sweaters from O'Connell's and at $125/per they are about the best deal on the market.

I went with the size 40 and the fit is perfect, trim but not binding and the sleeves are long enough!

I think I'll need more.

I just picked up my NOS shetland wool sweater today that I ordered from O Connell's. It fits well, looks well made, but its itchy as fuck, and not very soft at all. Damn. I'm going to have to wear it with a dress shirt underneath it, which I was hoping to avoid. Unless someone here knows how to soften them up.

Nevermind, it's going back. I'll put the credit towards something in cashmere, perhaps a vest or cardigan.

You have more than 1000 posts on SF and you expected to wear a sweater right on your skin?

I wear my cashmere that way from time to time in the evening if it's cooler.

If I could tolerate wearing the sweater with just a t-shirt under it, that would be fine, but even the damn sleeves are so itchy, it would drive me nuts.

ramuman/chips - which color did you guys get?

^ Chips, are you allergic to certain types of wool? My shetlands are not scratchy at all. They are not soft like cashemere, but they definitely aren't itchy.
