Blood Sausage

I forgot how much I love a good, I mean really good, blood sausage. Had one tonight, and it was fantastic. I can't stand a whole plateful of the stuff, but nothing is better than a few slices of rich, well spiced black pudding.

I'm a fan. Always fun to see the faces of my US friends when I get something like blood sausage and proclaim how delicious it is.

I will admit, I've had it a few times in Germany and it was too runny for my taste. I prefer it much firmer. Good South American blood sausage that has been grilled over an open fire (asado) is perfect.

I've never had it, but I really want to try some quality stuff.

Yes, yes. Proper English breakfast needs black pudding, ooozing mushrooms, fried tomatoes, lashings of mustard...

Yum.

Completely agree. I think I was lamenting the lack of good, easy to get, blood sausage in the US just a few days ago. Nothing like its meaty richness.

+1
A trip to Argentina isn't complete without a good asado con blood sausage.

The closest thing I've had is the Korean version, Sundae (soon-day). It's good shit, more snack food/junk food than fine food, though.

Damn, that looks good Brian.

Ruhlman waxes poetic about sausage in his Charcuterie. He has really opened my eyes to the potential of the sausage (no homo).

Go to Lyon=charcuterie heaven. Actually I think there is now a bunch of excellent online providers for the US territory but you're probably well aware of that.

Looks great Brian, BTW it's considered snack/junk in the western world too, we just have a habit of turning everything into some fine dining but it's putting lipstick on a (delicious) pig.

BTW who else eats kidneys here?
