Mike,

Can't wait for the jeans, but I forgot to ask earlier, could you tell us a little about the LA denim manufacturer? How'd you decide to use them, what other jeans they've produced in the past or are they a new business? Dorky stuff like that.

I dig both types of stitching, but lack of contrast creates a minimal stealthy look that I find appealing. Plus it sets these jeans apart from the usual "raw fabric, gold/yellow stitching" scheme, which has started to bore me.

The no-contrast stitching is a problem for me too. The South Willard jeans have this same look and I'm not that into it. The denim, cut and overall vibe is still great, and I already have way too many jeans anyway. I have to give a big thumbs up to Mike and the line he's putting together. The shirts, the trousers, the jeans - really a great selection of staple items, all very tastefully done at very attractive prices. I wish there was a retail outlet here in L.A.

The jeans look promising. Brand name is strangely similar to 5EP though.

Tempted to get the blacks since I need a new pair. I pretty much outgrew my Uniqlos and would be nice to have some straight up denim with no elastic. What would you recommend if I wear size 30 in Skull 5507s? Going to guess 30 as well. Shipping to Asia sorta sucks though

That and the rivets were my one reservation. Glad to know I'm not crazy to think so.

I think no contrast on black is good, but agree that on indigo it takes away from character.

Well, we can't give too much away, but these guys have been in business for a long time. They produce quite a few lines of premium denim and do a lot of work with the Japanese.

Hah, I never even thought of that! I've actually only heard of 5EP through the SF collab jean.

EP's is meant to be a short version of Epaulet's. And our proper name is "EP's by Epaulet"

Thanks Jason! The contrast stitching was a tough call. I wanted to set these first jeans apart from the pack. I knew that no contrast would turn some folks off, but hopefully an equal amount of guys like it as a detail. It helps them jive well with our shirts and sportcoats.

That said, we'll surely make a contrast stitched model in the future. Our goal is to establish one or two signature fits (like the shirts) and introduce a slew of special editions and design tweaks.
