Best first or business class on a plane?

Having tried Quantas, Lufthansa, Thai Airways, Malaysian Airlines, Garuda, British Airways and numerous minor Chinese airlines, for the first class category I nominate Singapore Airlines: From a recent flight on a (IIRC) Boeing 777, the 35" wide seat. (Krug Grande Cuvee) And finally, a (crappy) photo of the food taken from another flight (specially for vox): Looking forward to hearing others share their experiences.

Never done 1st on them, but did business class on a SF/Hong Kong flight and it was superb.

TBH, I am starting to think that slightly nicer food and getting your meals served in a plate as opposed to a tray is not worth the additional $$$.

The added seat space is welcome, but at times frankly approaches ridiculous - the square pillow you see propping up my copy of The Rake in the first photo is used to 'pad' the passenger seated there so that he/she does not slide around the seat while the plane is banking or taking off.

Just about the only reliably 'better' thing IMO is getting your seat dead flat for sleeping - though I look forward to trying out the double beds in the A380 suites soon. After multiple foiled attempts, I may yet join the mile-high club.

Singapore Airlines is the winner hands down,

How to become big timer?

Gotta have seats that fully recline into beds. I like Continental, but their "Business First" doesn't have this.

Yes, I thought it would be rude to raise the central divider (the silvery-edged thing, extends higher than eye level) and did not do so. He also helped me locate the headphone jack, which is inexplicably located at eye level on the left (you can just make it out). A stewardess did raise it for me later though when she was laying out the bedlinen.

Never done first and wouldn't pay for it. But while walking through first class in a Qatar Air flight, they looked damned good.

Emirates. A380/B777 First Class. Renowned among travel professionals. My brother travels all over the world, usually in First. He likes Singapore, Cathay and even BA. But Emirates is his favourite.

Yea, Emirates has their shit together, so does Singapore. The first class on the Emirates A340 wasn't half bad either.
