Sorry, I disagree with you. Every picture clearly shows a V down to the natural waist. Aside from his stance,
any fitted coat is going to have a "flare" Anything that is not a sack coat is going to taper to the natural waist, and then flare out at the skirt because unless you are deformed or grossly overweight or an anorexic, that's the way your body goes. This is even true of quite short, cropped jackets that hit just below the waist, and this coat is short, but not cropped. I think that the jacket actually looks really good on Random. How old is random anyway? Are you in law school? You look 15.
