im not saying mauro shouldnt post on social media or on here ever again. all i said is the expectations on here are too great and people need to understand the context.

sure i agree, that in a perfect world, mauro should consistently release info on his products and pictures and details etc in advance. all im saying is he inconsistently does this due to his own schedule, his lack of a full team to support him, and practicality. there tends to be more risk then reward providing MORE than just pictures or an fyi something is coming.

so yes, he lost your sale for olive chinos. that sucks and im sure if he could go back and had the time and staff, he would have loved to get your sale. but it is what it is. he cant please every customer and in the context that SF is not his main focus, but merely an outlet and a good support group, all i am saying is to put things into context

I like the debate you guys are having in that you both bring up great points. I think a good compromise is for Mauro to at least mention the products he's trying to bring out in the next release. I all for having a nice surprise, but not everything has to be a surprise. There's no way to know if Maruo is going to be stocking what I'm looking for, and it'd be dumb of me to wait around when great sales are going by. If there are bomb items Maruo thinks will sell out regardless, that's a cool surprise and it wouldn't make sense for him to spend time on sneakpeeks other than for his own pleasure. Other basics he's working on that may not sell out would benefit from letting his customer base know that they're upcoming.

To be fair, Mauro had announced chino colors in the winter. I know this because I spent a long time anticipating the olive chinos (though, didn't purchase due to inseam length).

Could Mauro optimize the setup he has? Yes -- and I look forward to that, and the growth of WvG. No doubt he's doing that now. But this is all sort of annoying, because it's a lot of armchair pandering, and to be honest, it just sounds like whining.

i'm looking to help him optimize his set up which potentially leads to a better business providing even better clothes/service to customers like me. maybe it's selfish but i'm not seeing who loses in that situation.

and this isn't really armchair pandering. i have a lot of business experience and knowledge from running my own and even offered mauro some help a few months ago. I have some time as I just sold my last business and am looking to start a new one and i also had interest in learning about clothing so it could've been mutually beneficial. i'm not local to him which is why he said no but I have given him several solutions to some issues he was having and am just offering another one here. he doesn't have to take me up on it but it is just some food for thought.

Stafa, for me personally, your post rubbed me the wrong way because it just sounded whiney. "Is it too much to ask..." "I really don't understand why you constantly..." -- Those phrases strike me as complaints as opposed to serious insights.

Mauro is at the helm, for better or for worse -- but I'll say that in the three years I've followed this brand, I haven't had much to complain about.

Right. I guess the confusion (for me at least) is that he posts pictures of things and then we don't hear about them for many months. This isn't necessarily abnormal, but can become an issue when new product is infrequent since everything . Some sort of cursory release schedule would help, even if it's just by month.

Could he do a Kickstarter to fund a press/media person? I would pay for that...

I realize everyone is trying to be helpful, and most of the points being raised are legitimate. But I'm just noting that we've now heard complaints that (1) Mauro doesn't give enough advance warning about will be offered in coming months; and (2) Mauro posts pictures of things that won't be available for months.
Everyone's personal shopping experience is a relevant data point. But while I know each of us is the most special snowflake in the flurry, I think people are way too quick to assume that the best customer relations/marketing/inventory control/pricing/whatever model is necessarily the one that's best calibrated to their own personal idiosyncrasies.

Mauro are you doing what you did last time for the oxfords? Leaving a bunch of shirts waiting in the wings to be dyed?

I have dyed all of the oxfords I had in the wings. Those oxfords will go on sale on 3pm Tuesday Aug. 12th. I would like to warn everyone certain sizes are broken. This means not every size was made when I say a size is broken.
