Anyway, I have a decently broad chest, for how narrow my neck and waist are, so I usually err on going slightly up. American brands using vanity-sizing I tend to be a small, and brands that are more European or more precise (like, for instance, Gustin shirts) I'm a Medium slim, because I can get a decent amount of pull on that top button.

I guess I should also ask, what the lengths on monkey arms vs. non-monkey arms are. My arms aren't *super* long, but like I said, I usually wear a 33 sleeve. A size small in a lot of brands leaves the sleeves much too short, another reason why I'm often a medium.

I don't have measurements to compare with, but I am a 15-33 in BB ESF and wear a small AD. Small BD is a bit too slim for my liking at the chest and too constricting at the waist (I'm also not an athletic V shape either though). I tried a medium BD a while it fit OK, the neck opening was a bit bigger then I would have liked. Haven't tried one on in a while though as I personally prefer the breathing room the AD provides me better as I'm a bit over the super slim thing myself and only wear WvG untucked for casual gear anyway. Mauro measures his sleeve length from collar to sleeve hem though, not shoulder to cuff like most of us are familiar with so keep that in mind when you do see a measurement chart pop up.

I'm about 5'8" and the standard sleeve sizing is a bit on the short side (they wouldn't fly for me for wearing with a suit) by about an inch. Haven't ventured into monkey arms yet, but an extra inch in the standard sleeve length would be ideal.

Awesome. So that makes it sound like either the small or medium after-dinner would be fine, but I'd almost certainly want monkey arms, especially if I go small.

I think you're right about the monkey arms, especially if you're opting for a smaller size. The monkey arms aren't crazy long.

I thought this was the way most places measured shirt sleeves like Brooks Brothers. Maybe when you say "most of us" you are referring to SW&D people.

I hear we can add an inch to sleeve/length on certain special orders which is what i will most likely end up doing. I wonder if there will be any options for this in the next newsletter?

I almost wish the AD shirts were sized down; the After Dinners now feel more like an After Dessert shirt. The medium BD fits me decent, although a bit tight in spots. But then the medium AD is just too baggy even for a casual summer shirt. I've tried small AD too and that would be perfect if the sleeves and length were an inch longer. I'm probably in the minority here though...and i mean the options of stock sizes are more generous than anywhere else, i guess i just fall into a weird niche.

I'm 5'11, 155lbs and probably would fit best into a BD Small. I wear small in every other brand and have never had the sleeves be too short. Do I need to go with monkey arms?

The cuts are completely different, but are a lot closer if you let the darts out on a Before Dinner. Compared to the same size After Dinner, a Before Dinner will have slimmer shoulders, arms, neck and chest. The monkey arms are an extra two inches.

Yes! If you would like anything different please let us known - send us an email.

Our After Dinner cut is intentionally loose. Personally, I think it's a great compromise between a baggy shirt and a slim shirt - it's loose, but still has shape. I think it works especially well with short-sleeve summer shirts. We also offer MTM.

It's hard for me to say - I don't think our shirts have especially short arms by any means. We offer monkey arms because we're trying to cater to as many customers as possible, not because our lengths are atypically short.

Hey Mauro I'm down for some shirts. We're there any changes? My black one has held up great, but something happened with the khaki and the sleeves are kind of distorted/balloon. Not sure what it is.
