I want dim sum - Page 2

If in Windsor Ontario, there are many joints on Wyandotte near the University. Lee Gardens in particular, used to be very good. Not sure if it's still open. Right next door to them, was Sung Hong BBQ chop house. Another favorite of mine, but not for dim sum. Nice rice bowl with roasted pork and duck

The place my friend likes is Emperor's Garden (I think). She also likes the Gourmet Dumpling House for their dumplings and beef noodle soup.

The one time I had dim sum in Boston it was pretty good, and the place even served chicken feet, but I don't remember where it was other than Chinatown (which is tiny), and we had to walk through another restaurant and up to the second floor to get to it. There was a sign on the street advertising jazz music.

I think the best in the city is Ton Kiang. Some people like Yank Sing a lot, but it is a bit roundeye for my taste. In Chinatown, Lychee Garden and Gold(en?) Mountain are very good, but they tend to be extremely traditional whereas Ton Kiang is a nice mix of easy and interesting. Koi Palace in Daly City is fantastic, and Hong Kong Flower Lounge in Millbrae can be excellent as well. Fook Yuen was better, but is now closed.

for the last 3-4 years we've been getting a lot of high-end dim sum places in the SGV -- no carts, few chicken feet, but the dumplings look like the faberge eggs of shumai. fabulous stuff. Elite, mentioned above, is supposed to be one of the best. i still haven't eaten there, though i did eat several times at new concept, which was doing much the same thing in the same space before it.

Dim sum is good and all, but I wish I were going to see my beloved Buckeyes in Pasadena so I could get some Xiao Long Bao at Din Tai Fung. ... that is SOLID stuff. Even their shu-mai have broth in them... fan-F-ing-tastic
