Christmas shopping.... Ugh

Is anyone else done with their christmas shopping?
I really hate the consumerist nature of Chirstmas in the US, but I still need to get gifts for some people. Aunts and girl friends are really hard to shop for, is anyone else in the same boat? I'm not really close enough to them to get them something hand made or personal but i don't really want to get them a scarf. Ideas?

i find it easier for me year by year, because of internet shopping.

i am responsible for finding gifts for the guys in my list of gifts to give. so far everything has been online (except my dad's) and it has been a breeze.

my wife on the other hand has to find stuff for all the women and children. i will help out on the children section like finding a nwely released dvd or something for a couple of the kids but she doesnt really mind doing brick and mortar shopping as she loves the holiday bustle.

I just finished today. I have no qualms about going to the mall at during this time of year, in fact I rather like it because there tends to be a better all around atmospher. I absolutely don't mind doing internet shopping though. I even went out on Black Friday just for the hell of it, it's fun.

Another benefit of online shopping is that the items can be gift wrapped and delivered to the recipients. A terrific way to shop, IMO.

Well, seeing as how I make very little money and my family knows it, my gifts for them are understandably modest. I got my brother a hardcover copy of "Catcher in the Rye", and I split with people to get my other brother a handmade double wrap leather bracelet (like the 3sixteen kind) stamped with his initials, my mom a bunch of seasons of West Wing, and my dad some Clark's Desert Boots. Nothing huge, but it feels nice to be buying gifts for my family for the first time in a long time. Best part is that it's all online too. I hate malls, plus I have no access to a big one.
