Italian suits on Amazon?

So I've been doing alot of research into which suit(s) to buy for an upcoming position in criminal investigations, and I came across these Italian suits on Amazon (ie. this one ) My question is, who knows the deal with these? Why are they so cheap? Has anyone had any experience with buying them? I don't have a large budget to spend, perhaps only $400-$500 for a suit, shirts, ties, shoes, etc. So if these are a good deal please let me know, if not, I'd like to know where to go. I've been looking at the wizard of aahs site, fourinhand, and thick as thieves, but I'm not sure if I can afford them and still buy the rest of the wardrobe that I need. Thanks for any help!

I have no knowledge of these suits, but if something looks too good to be true it probably is. The suit is, no doubt, a suit, but the quality of the fabric, the tailoring, the fusing etc will not be good. You would be better of searching the buying and selling section for a high quality used suit in your size. I have a suit from Wizard of Ahhs that is quite nice, but the fabric is a delicate super 150's and I would not want that if I had to wear a suit daily.

Horrible. I got a similar one before SF.

If they offer a return policy it might be worth a try - I'd still be wary since I've never heard of that seller/brand. At that pricepoint, the most important detail would be fit.

I got my wizard of aahs' marco valentino suit today - really happy with the suit as it fit me very well off the bat (will only need to take in the sides of the jacket and hem the pants). The fabric drapes nicely and has subtle pickstitiching the lapels that's a nice touch. I got mine for $280 shipped.

If you prefer a "workshorse" suit I'd recommend you check out Syms or the Barneys outlet for brands like Burberry, John Varvatos, and Hickey Freeman - all of which can be found for less than $500. I saw a nice Hilfiger suit with peak lapels, tick pocket, duals vents for $200 at SYMS the other day that had a slim silouhette.

For dress shirts, I had good experiences with www.tailorstore.com . They've been good with making shirts to the exact measurements provided (good quality control). You can get a dress shirt that fits much better than an OTR shirt for about $75 shipped.

For shoes, check out ebay for good deals on Alden/Santoni/Allen Edmonds. I got a pair of black Alden captoes that were in excellent conditon for $75 shipped.

Thanks for the help everyone.

We don't have a Syms or Barney's outlet in the Clarksville/Nashville, Tennessee area, but I will check out their websites to see what they offer. There doesnt seem to be alot to choose from in the area, it seems like the local mall/men's warehouse is about it Would you recommend that I get one off of the Syms or Barney's website and then have a local tailor fit it?

I would like a "workhorse" suit that can be worn often and comfortably throughout the year. Should I look for a lower count fabric than the super 150's that's not quite as delicate?

I appreciate the tips for the shoes and shirts too!

I don't think Syms and the Barneys outlet have a selection of products you can browse and/or purchase online.

If you don't have these stores near you, I'd recommend you check out ebay for suits (if you know your measurements).

Brands like Banana Republic (Monogram) and Jcrew have slim fitting suits that seem decent if you can catch them with a 30% coupon.

IMO, super 100-120's would be my ideal range for a "workhorse" suit.

Allow me to elaborate about that seller on Amazon: The cut, construction, and material of that suit is horrible. Maybe you'll say it's what you get for $100, but I disagree. Your suit will not resemble the model's fit. The construction is no way near the "hand tailored/finished" they advertise. The material is questionable and someone has even suggested that it is not real wool, but rather poly. The seller is also sketchy, and I suspect he has multiple accounts peddling "Italian" suits. The reviewers are almost always shill accounts that rave about how their tailor or friend or salesperson can't believe it was so cheap. When the seller gets a bad review he'll just delete it and start over. Stay away at all costs. I can't believe Amazon lets such a questionable merchant stay online. Help me feel like the $100 (plus tailoring afterward) wasn't a complete waste of time and money by staying as far away as you can.
