Dr. Olive has written over 30 research papers on the perception and measurement of audio for which he was awarded the Audio Engineering Society (AES) Fellowship Award in 1996, and two Publication Awards (1990 and 1995). Sean is the current Vice President for the AES Western US-Canada region.

Just wanted to say thanks for the audioengine suggestion. I picked up a pair this afternoon and have been running them since. I can't believe the high quality of the sound. Would recommend.

You could, I'm sure, find a CD/Integrated amp/speaker combo for $3K that's a bit better. Especially if you needed deep bass or didn't get upset about a system taking up a whole wall. But even for $3K, the F80 is a very interesting candidate. Add to its good sound (and the sound is very good) the portability and compact build...

There are a lot of people who could solve a lot of their problems just by pointing and clicking. My sisters and I got one for my Mom's 75th. She'll be putting it on the kitchen counter of her summer cottage and no other product of that type will do so well with Jessye Norman singing Strauss.
