What's your one perfect song?

I've recently discovered a song by Nils Lofgren called Little On Up which has the most heartfelt lyrics and music I have heard. I love so much music but this song is very special. I would nominate this song off of Nils' Acoustic Live CD as a possible perfect song. I'm curious what "perfect songs" others here might recommend as favorites...? We may get to discover more great music this way. Thanks in advance for your suggestions and nominations. If you have additional "perfect songs" feel free to nominate several but I'm hoping we keep the quality bar really high.

Epic fail. The Band's version of "I Shall Be Released" that was performed in Toronto during the Festival Express tour ('70). It is mind-blowing, not a thing wrong with it.

I figured Conne was going to choose a quality Band song which I endorse completely. A very rich catalog there...Up on Cripple Creek anyone? I'm going to buy the new MFSL Cahoots tomorrow.

Obscure Van Morrison entry: Summertime in England. Holy music in my household.

Glad you like Cahoots. It is an underrated album; some serious gems are on there: When I Paint My Masterpiece, Life is a Carnival, Where Do We Go from Here, The Moon Struck One. Another good "one song:" Peg by Steely Dan!

Different kind of song here, but I consider it a perfect piece.
