What to give as holiday/Christmas gift to UPS store folks?

I use a UPS store to receive mail and the two people who work there are so great -- they've stayed 15 mins past closing to wait for me to come get my mail, they've helped me with lost packages, they've carried stuff out to the car for me. I want to get each of them (man and woman in early 30s) something for the holidays but don't know what. I don't know if they have kids or what they like.

A few options I was thinking of:

1) Wine (but do they like wine?)
2) Chocolate
3) Money (too condescending/transactional? I feel it might be)
4) Champagne (again, do they like?)

I really want something which says "thank you". These guys go above and beyond and always with a smile.

Cash is king, but champagne is a nice touch. Champagne and chocolates seems a little romantic though.

A nice holiday card with some cash inside. Always appreciated!

Is cash really right? If so, how much?
I feel like cash is right if it's someone to whom I usually pay a tip of some sort...but to someone else it might just be condescending. I'm willing to be convinced otherwise...

How about a gift certificate to one of the nicer restaurants in town?

I don't know anyone who doesn't enjoy a nice meal out once in a while.

I'm not a fan of giving cash except to relatives. A gift card or certificate enclosed in a card would be nice.

Firstly anything will be appreciated. And well done you for wanting to say thank you for good service and well done to them for providing it. I am not a fan of cash/gift certificates... so would go with food. A mini-hamper/basket from your local organic/posh foodie store... tea/preserves type of neutral thing that if even is not to their taste would adorn their kitchen or they can fob off on Great Aunt Lucie...

Yeah, I like your ideas better than a gift card/certificate. I don't like the cards either, but I prefer those to cash. I will not give cash.

Maybe a Godiva gift basket?

I can see how cash doesn't feel quite right often times. When I worked retail, I had some regular customers that would drop off fruit baskets, chocolates, or cookie assortments for me. Other guys had the same rapport with some of their customers. Those types of gifts were always good too because all of us working there would just set up the food gifts in the back office for everyone to share. If you didn't like the cookies, you'd snack on someone else's fruit basket, etc.

The reality is really the thought that counts. Showing you appreciate them is remembered.

Shouldn't that be the exact opposite? You know your family better, so you should be able to pick something out for them. Gift cards suck a dick. Oh hey, here is some cash, BUT, only spend it at this shitty place you dont like.

Bake cookies and tell them they were homemade. They will appreciate the personal touch. Otherwise a box of chocolates is always nice.

They work in the UPS store - why is anything but cash even of question? Anything else you give them will be, "Yes <item> it nice, but I'd rather have the money"

JohnGalt, can I ask you a question?
