Are you protected when you send a wire transfer?

Just sold a jacket for 700USD and received the money via wire transfer to my bank.

Is the buyer protected at all?

the buyer is only protected through ebay, which really means nothing. however, it is in your best interest to follow through on good faith and deliver the exact product to him as soon as possible. YOU are protecting the buyer. why do you even ask?

I didn't even sell it via eBay, though.

are you being serious here or just attempting to be a troll? yes, you have to send him the item he wired you money for . it is not even a question of whether he is protected or not. why you even ask that question?

But it is actually a question. He has no protection whatsoever, right?

Well, if you want to scam him now, you pretty much fucked it up.

No protection whatsoever - go skip town and gamble the money away!

I didn't sell via StyleForum, and don't plan on ever fucking someone like that. But with wire transfers it's pretty much what whusurdadi said, isn't it?

yes, the money is ALL yours. there is no real ramification for you to keep the money and run. since he sent it wired to you as cash.

however, just let me state this, i Guarantee you, something very troubling will come around to hurt you or someone close to you IF you decide to keep it and run. mark my word. i promise this will happen.
