thinning at the hairline - recommendations? - Page 2

I used Propecia and it worked perfectly after a while. You know how there is that side effect(impotence) in 2% of the users, well i didnt get that but there was this one time i stopped taking the pill and I was hard for a very long time...Reverse affect but could be all in my head.

Anyways i couldnt continue using propecia because i am not in the states anymore but now i use Revivogen and i would like to think its working..

Propecia + Rogaine (10%) is what I've been using (package bundle is about $200 per 6month supply) and it seems to at least stabilize hair loss, even if nothing is growing back.

I'm going to take a look at Proscar now too.

This is fascinating stuff. I'll definitely consider the Propecia option - right now I just started a course of Nioxin and off-brand Minoxidil, but if that gives me no results, I'll try something more drastic.

How's Propecia for coverage? I've always had a bit of a funky hairline, but I'm more concerned with coverage at this point. You can work around a thinning hairline. Not so much when the thinning spreads.

Get a shorter hair cut

Anyone have experience with MiN products? Sounds like it targets the blockage of DHT. More expensive than Nioxin products, which also target DHT.

I agree, wear you hair shorter. As a bald man who is proud of his chrome dome, I am always perplexed. Then again, head shape has a lot to do with whether to attempt to correct the "problem" (with toupees, ointments or drugs). Because of this I do recommend shaving your head once to see if it looks good bald, you can always grow it back.

Propecia (cheaper to buy Proscar 5mg and split it) should help to stop the thinning or slow it down.

Worse comes to worse, transplants are an option. See this:

(Be patient through annoying intro).

just shave your head.

+1 on the buzzcut. Only way to go. No stress, manly, and liberating. Quick towel-off after a swim or shower. Fantastic. Get a couple of hats for added style. Great fun. It looks a lot better if you're in some kind of shape though, so work on that if you need to. I'd avoid doing it suddenly - the skin under it will be very pale and tender, you'll look daft and feel even dafter, and the first time you get any sun on it you'll burn to a crisp. Just start getting your hair cut a bit more often, and get it cut a bit shorter each time. Eventually you'll wonder why you ever cared about it.

Changing your diet and exercise regimen combined with lots of B-vitamins can help. Worked for me anyway. Sadly, as a side effect, I seem to have a bristly, shaved horse's mane sprouting between my ass cheeks.

That comes with age. Wait until you get tufts of hair on your ear. Luckily mine is clear.
