Threaten to report him for fraud--that he never intended to sell the item for the buy it now price. That should scare him enough to at least get your money back

doesn't buy it now pop up with something that says "by clicking buy it now you are entering a binding agreement to purchase this item for this price"? Why isn't that binding or the seller as well?

yup exactly like my guess earlier...so he had stuck a low list price to avoid the eBay fees, cranked the shipping cost so he still makes money. Pretty common scheme, but didn't realise international shipping gets calculated differently. Interesting. No chance whatsoever youre getting these jeans. If you report him to eBay and then to Paypal, they may refund it for you if you dispute it, and Paypal will charge you a 20 fee to do so....so youre screwed. Seven bucks comes back. Best case, you get your 27 back from him if he is scared of being reported and possibly banned. If you report him...he'll just keep your money.

He wasnt trying to scam the OP, he was trying to scam eBay out of its fees, not the buyer. Had the buyer been in the US, it would have been one buck jeans, 99 buck shipping, and he gets his hundred and pays pennies to eBay for the transaction. Being in Canada put it through the international shipping calculator instead of his flat rate shipping, and it all comes undone there.

So you saw nudies for a buck and didn't immediately throw up a bunch of red flags?

Whatever you do DON'T PAY $100 for the jeans and DON'T let the seller blame you or leave you negative feedback.

What I would do is remind him that the auction sold them to you for $1 and he is obligated to do so. You should have proof that's what it said including the emails that Ebay send you when you win. If he fights I would contact Ebay with a letter of what happened. Chances are you wont get the jeans for $1, but by doing so you protect yourself from him leaving you negative feedback. Also by doing this you help ensure you get a refund.

LMAO.

Here's my message to him:
Don't be a jerk. You sold these to some other guy for $1 with a $99 shipping fee to compensate, which is against Ebay's rules. When he listed his destination as Canada, Ebay automatically calculated shipping as $26, as it rightfully should have done. You need to either send him the jeans or refund his money TODAY.

And his response:
FIRST OF ALL YOU NEED TO MIND YOUR ******* BUSINESS , YOU DONT KNOW WHAT ME AND THE BUYER AGREED TOO AND SECOND OF ALL WHO THE **** ARE YOU TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO. WHY DONT YO GO HANG YOUR SELF AND DIE SLOW ***** !!

Good luck getting your money back...

Guys, I don't need you to fight my battles by sending seller messages. Thanks anyway.
