With that being said I've gotten better results from a hypertrophy-based program than a CF-based one.

Bias towards particular brands of supplements or supplement use is not the same as bias towards back squats vs cardio, nor does supplement bias appear in either of these articles. "Some bias" might be an understatement given a review of TNation as a whole, but directed towards these two articles in particular, it fits the bill.

Jesus, the crossfit vs powerlifting vs bodybuilding argument is old and boring at this point. Yes a lot of crossfitters are douchebags, but so are lots of bodybuilders. Do what you like so long as it keeps you fit and don't drink the fucking cool-aid.

As for the women of crossfit, when they look like this, I'm all for it...

but when they turn hot surburban housewives into east german Olympians, I cry a little inside

I started crossfit about 8 weeks ago. Prior to that, I had spent the previous 3 or so years doing traditional weightlifting/bodybuilding. I was very skeptical going into crossfit, as up until then I was very narrow-minded when it came to the gym (I hated P90x fags, people that would curl, etc). Anyways, the whole experience has been amazing so far. The people are great (my class consists of anyone from a 21 year old party girl all the way to a 28 year old ex-olympic discus thrower), and the classes are humbling. I suspect that most people that hate on crossfit are too scared to step outside their comfort zone and give it a shot.

I'm not going to argue bodybuilding vs crossfit, but I will say that crossfit is anything but boring and you'll find yourself sore in places where you didn't even think you had muscles. Not to mention there's the whole mental aspect of crossfit, because lets face it after a certain point of fatigue, it's really all about willpower.

Cheers!

While these girls look very fit, they're a little thick for my tastes. Seriously, though, what happens to these girls when they stop working out? They'll still be eating like they're working out and fat will pile on top of that extra muscle mass. Cardio bunnies for me.
