Cricket - Southern Hemisphere Summer (09/10)

I know this may be a long shot, but any cricket fans out there following the Southern Hemisphere summer?

England have once again showed that they are masters of the weather, even in South Africa.

India made light work of Sri Lanka but have they done enough to ward off Australia and South Africa from the coveted No.1 ranking. Will be interesting to see where the rankings end come the start of the Northern Summer. I didnt see much play so i dont know if Sangakarra had much right to complain?

Pakistan showing a bit of competition in New Zealand thanks to Asifs bowling. Will they be competitive when they tour Australia later in the Summer?

West Indies showing a bit more competition after after their abyssmal first test largely thanks to Dwayne Bravos excellent first innings. Looks like Australia might be even playing out for the draw - third test decided on the cards?

Second test Australia vs WI ended in a draw. Good cricket from both sides though. Goes to show that sides should prepare for a longer period through more practice games in Australia if they want to play near their best in the first test in a tour of Australia.

Good to see proper test matches lately. I was pleasantly surprised with India wrapping up Sri Lanka twice in both tests. West Indies not getting pushed over by the Aussies was also good to see and they had some chance of the winning the cricket match, a marginal one but still.

Pakistan and NZ's first test was great. One of the best test matches in a while but then again NZ crashed completely in the second one.

England surprisingly beat SAF in the one day series and I hope they continue to do it and beat them in the test series as well. Will be fun to watch who they pick for the first test if Jimmy Anderson is injured and how they cope with his injury. KP will also be fun to watch. Good luck to the boys!

I hope the Windies are able to be a good team again. WICB is such a cluster.

Australia will rebound and be in top form in the next two years or so. As much as I enjoyed the Baggy Green's success the past decade, having one dominant team for that long wasn't good for the game.

Well Australia managed to hold on, it seemed Adelaide pitch didnt degrade at all in the last couple of days. Spirited effort by the West Indies.

Agree, it would be great to see WI Cricket like it was in the 80s but i cant imagine it. There is not enough money there - as much as i hate 20/20 maybe it will pump some money back into WI cricket.

The main problem is the WICB structure. Well that and really only Jamaica and T n T produce any talent. The entire Windward and Leeward Islands could be dropped and Windies cricket would likely improve.
