I don't know if that is the norm - you would have to ask him about that. I already had the shoe trees, but I think he can get them for you (at an additional charge) should you need them. The shoes were securely and professionally packaged. They are beautiful. They look first quality to me:

The shoe on top is called the "Stowe" and the model on the bottom is called the "Montford." I was interested in a couple of pairs of cap-toes too but they sold before I could get my paws on them.

Overall it was a very positive experience - highly recommended.

It is hard to search for "89" so I ask for help.

How would you compare the 89 with the 888 after several wearings?
Have any of you gone done half a size in last 89 from last 888?

My Mackays (888) are 9.5/10 and I am debating going between the 9.5/10 89s or getting a pair in 9/9.5.

How much do the dovers open up?

Thanks

I go down half a size in the 89. They are about a quarter sized longer, so my size 10 in the 89 last are slightly shorter than my size 10.5 in the 888. I find the width about equivalent when comparing the 10 89 and the 10.5 888. I definitely could not wear a 10.5 in the 89, however.

A Harris,

If I remember right you're a size 13US which would be a UK 12.5 and this person had no problem with the finding 12.5 or were you some what limited?

I don't think I've ever seen any 12.5 Green, Lobb or CJ's listed. Always just UK12 and below listed on eBay.

Thanks

The EG summer sale in the UK starts in about 6 weeks. Shoes will run about 250 quid plus shipping.

Boy I was sure fooled and should pay more attention to the dates.

Anyway still don't understand why I never see any 12.5UK shoes.

I was fooled too. I started mentally re-budgeting until I noticed that the thread is 2 years old. What a cruel joke!

To address the question about sizing, I agree with everything JN wrote. I usually buy US size 12, but I ordered 1/2 size down on the 89 last compared to the 888 or 82 (I don't yet own any EG shoes, but I've tried on shoes on the 888, 82, and 89 lasts in the RL stores). I agree that the 89 is about 1/4 size large, but since I'm about a US size 11.75, 11.5 felt almost perfect--snug without being uncomfortably tight. I'll reiterate that I don't yet have my shoes, so I can't comment on how the fits compare after some wear.

Doc...Saks will more than likely also have some models on sale when they begin their major summer reductions.

Size 12-1/2 US Edward Green shoes do show up from time to time.. Edward Green makes them in limited quantities, but they most definitely are available. The interior size mark reads: 12/12-1/2

If interested, you should email the company from the link at their website. Last Christmas during their sale they had several 12-1/2 US's for sale -- I bought a great pair of Warwick boots....

I'm waiting eagerly. My local store is bringing in merchandise from elsewhere, so I've got high hopes for some good stuff. According to a salesman, Saks is phasing out Hickey-Freeman at most (or all) of its stores. I'm no HF devotee, but there's one spectacular navy chalkstripe I'd love to pick up for a song.
