How do you use your netbook? - Page 2

Did anyone see the new Vostro V13? That's the only netbook I would even consider. It barely qualifies as a netbook too.

Unless I can find a solution, here is a way I will not be using my netbook: to upload to Photobucket or Flip Share.

So my new Asus came with Windows 7 and Trend Virus. I found I can't upload to Photobucket. I can send a pic via email, my Asus internet back up works fine, so I know the machine can actually upload. I've turned off Windows firewall, Trend firewall...but I still can't upload via Firefox nor Explorer.

Any of the tech g33ks have a thought on what I need to turn off?

Turn off the computer and give up.... Or just reformat it. Isn't the number one rule to reformat when buying a computer with a pre-installed copy of Windows? Or try Google Chrome.

Or try Google Chrome.

Too lazy to reformat or go to a new OS. I gave that up back in the 1990s, after I got tired of playing with Slackware.

I like using it for trip abroad - especially backpacking trips. It's really handy to have a laptop when traveling but not at the expense of an extra 5 lbs to carry everywhere.

I am taking it when I travel this month, in April, etc. Part of what I wanted to do, was post pics and videos during the trip. Unless I can get through this hellish blocker, I won't be doing that.

Google Chrome as in the browser.

Try uninstalling your virus protection. See if uploading works.

Brainfart on the Chrome. Was thinking of their new OS, as I was momentarily tempted to try a new OS on the machine.

I might try that MS, thanks for the idea.

As a desk decoration. My Lenovo S10-2 has been sitting on my desk collecting dust. And as I now have a Moto Droid, I might just get rid of it. The only thing that's holding me back is that I can take it to a cafe and do some word processing work on it. So, there ya go. A $300 mobile word processing device.

I usually rip the sleeve off after a while; I just can't stand it.
