I'd be careful and make sure the store has generous return policy. I had a few 10 years old Roederer bottles with an old cork and no gas inside.

Good point. I also shudder at the bottles of sparkling wines that have to live in the fridge at the store.

hey andre, i'm in socal too. do you mind telling me which market you saw that at? i'd be very careful with it too. some champagnes store ok; others that seem older are actually recently disgorged, so the pressure is still fresh. i believe the current release on l'ermitage rose is 2002 or 2003.

G V-N-C just reviewed the 96 St Vincent. Havent had St Vincent in 5 or 6 years (1990 I think). Only 85 bucks... hmmm.
