Jason, I guess that I don't have to ask you what other sites you are visiting...

Well, I am now thinking of getting a Lee repro from Edwin as well as those Canes. Does anyone know the quality of the Edwin repros?

I'm stuck between the 1937s and the 1944s. Does anyone have an opinion on which is a better cut? Also, would anyone know which is more similar in shape to the Sugar Cane 1947s?

My bank account is gonna feel this one.

are the 1944's the fullest cut 501's? and if so who offers a repro of them?

Sorry if I was unclear. I meant repros of the 1937 and 1944 Lee 101s. I believe Edwin makes them.

i think the fact that SC's are harder to obtain makes them more appealing. if you go with xxcoldricexx, you will probably pay the same price as the LVC's anyways.

i'm glad i went with the SC 47 over the LVC. i really am in love with these jeans. i'm sure later on, if i get the LVC 47s will love them in a different way, but for now, i'm super happy with my cane 47s.

the amount of trouble they went to authentically create a repro of the original 1947 501 is astounding. the fact that you can buy it for so cheap is a big plus!

so, go for the canes!

the LVC 1947s are 14oz. denim. The lighter ones are probebly repros from the 1930s when denim was lighterweight. the 1947s are a really good fit and the fabric is nice. it is shrink to fit so depending on how you wear and care for your jeans you may want to buy them up a size or 2. i wear mine as long as possible before the first and subsequent washes. i think these are easily the best.

Sugar Canes! Even if the price stings as one's first premium denim purchase, you will not regret it!

"...as the days wore on, so did the warps and wefts expand and mold to her lower body, imparting a soft, buttery feeling all along the upper thighs and seat. Sugar Cane's denim is alive!"
