This was a gift from my boss. I kept it for a few months before I just sold it. It is pretty solid. Made in USA. You can't beat the quality. If I needed a sterling silver money clip I would buy a...

I just picked this up and I am pretty pleased. Just what I expected. I am pleased with the Bark. However, I wish it was a little darker. A great deal for $35. Comparable to other belts in the...

Do you still produce socks? Perhaps have a store where we can see your wares?
yes, but the reason I'm on this blog is not to advertise myself. I really want to learn what people really care about socks and what people like or don't like. I think there always something to learn everyday..
besides of mine (of course
) : Pantherella for an English style an quality oriented consumers, Sozzi for who likes Italian style and comfort and Falke for people preferring durability first of all.these are the "old big ones", but there are new ones coming on the market, small Companies doing really nice things . in Italy is very popular Gallo in this moment, and they are becoming a kind of "total look" Company (not just socks, but scarfs, gloves, underware..)

Is charcoal grey the most popular colour after black because I can't find any?
Are there socks in a shape that are identical in left and right?
I don't have other socks questions for you right now.

this is really depepnding on the market : Italy and France navy is the best seller. Usa and Russia black it is the most preferred.
maybe you can't find any because the multi brands shops today are very concerned about offering a wide selection of colors and they are just playing "safe" buying only black and navy, but it is changing : in Europe a lot of shops are offering now a good palette of colors (bright ones also). about shape today there are actually different ways to iron the socks (this is the way in the factory we give shape to the socks) : you can iron on old forms working just with warm alluminium or using steam machines. you can give the shape you want using different shapes form.
usually anyway left and right are the same to save costs and avoid confusion for the consumer to find everytime the right one.
today there are also machines which can produce right and left foot socks and this is coming directly from production, not from ironing.

My biggest peeve about socks is when they start to come apart at the point right near the ankles, where the vertical leg part is attached to the horizontal foot part. It seems to happen to supposedly high quality socks. Some of my favorite socks are from Paul Stuart, Borrelli, and Ben Silver, and yet they all have that problem on occasion. I think the Paul Stuart ones are made by Sozzi Calze (as I've seen similar socks at Barney's with the S-C name on the label), and I think the Borrelli and Ben Silver ones have the same maker too as they have identical markings. Anyway, perhaps I'm pulling them on with too much force. My socks never see the inside of a dryer, so it's not that... Second biggest peeve is supposedly OTC socks that aren't -- either some manufacturers believe that most of their buyers have shortish legs or they are skimping to save money, but it's annoying to get new "OTC" socks only to find that they actually only pull up half-way up (rather than over) the calf muscle, meaning that they gradually slide down.

The most amazing quality of socks is only to be had when they are fresh from the dryer.
Otherwise, it depends on what I am doing. Roller derby demands a thick sock (possibly knee high), winter camping: a sock that would double and stay warm when wet, and if I decided to go douchebag: a sock with lights that blinks the designer's name or a dollar sign.

Thanks.
I collect over the top clothes on Ebay, preferably used (for example Hermes boxer shorts at $340/pair would be a good score). What sock brands would they be?
Are cashmere socks worth their cost (25-35/pair new on Ebay). My guess is the wool is too soft to be durable
Finally, I enjoy shorts, but have never felt I could carry off a sartorial look in them. Penny loafers and boat shoes with shorts just seem out of place to me. I thought maybe highlander socks, the kind worn with kilts might work, but maybe not. Any sock suggestions?
Thanks
