Actually, when I was about 18 or 19 I used to wear a fedora when I would go out clubbing. But, I didn't wear it in an effort to have people take me seriously - it was more like a costume. I would wear it with slim fitting black pants with silver pinstripes and tight black shirts. After about a year or so dressing like that I grew out of that look. Now, I wouldn't wear a fedora until I'm pretty old. Whenver I see a young guy wearing a fedora I think that the person is just eccentric or is trying to make some kind of statement.

As for the original poster - if that look is getting you laid then you should wear it. If you're spending a lot of nights alone, then you might want to reconsider it.

Pretty much sums up how men should approach everything in their lives. If the girlfriend, wife or potential partner ain't giving you any, you are doing something wrong.

Or maybe he's cold! In the winter, its such a shame seeing a guy in a suit, dress overcoat and a stupid wool knit cap on his head! Maybe a fedora isn't the right thing, but something with a brim! Please! Or just go hatless!

The fact that the fedora is worn slanted makes him look like a......for lack of a better word...wangster. Besides, the fedora is making a slight comeback and every retard has one - including kid rock. So, put it aside for a couple of years.

I missed the earlier thread that has been mentioned, but are you familiar with the Fedora Lounge. You might find some guidance on the hat proportion, which is what needs some work. They're all about that look.

I like the suit in the first picture, although it looks a little big on you. The fedora still gives the outfit the gangster look.

The thing is...for most people, including many members on this forum, the clothing that they personally wear is a uniform. Some clothing is art, but not the stuff I choose to wear. IMO, suits have always been a uniform. The fedora used to be part of a man's uniform too. Look at most of the advice on this forum...questions about fit, matching, etc...these are all related to conforming to a certain dress code and a certain uniform. If you want to be very individualistic and not care what other people think, that's fine. But I think the root of most of the advice in this thread, and heck...the root of wear a suit in the first place, is "what looks appropriate for work?"

Even Dennis Rodman has a job. Whatever floats your boat, man. But lose the naive believe that fedoras can get you laid.

I suppose it could be, but I think this is just some kid who needs to learn how to take advice not so personally. One shouldn't post a photo and ask for comments and then take umbrage if some of said comments are not positive.

Can anyone actually graduate from high school in the US and write in such a poor English?
