what are the best insincere compliments to gift the opposite gender?

usually anything regarding the eyes, right? i need to get on top of my insincere compliment game

also, i once read somewhere that all sincere compliments are whispered, or at least spoken in a measured tone. i should try and remember that one, it sounds like it would help

what do you guys think

to get back on topic though, there is a difference between an insincere compliment and a backhanded compliment i wonder which is more effective

Surely an insincere complement is just a normal compliment which you don't mean, a simple lie, whilst backhanded compliment is a put down disguised as a compliment. "Nice haircut" (I think your hair looks like shit) "Nice haircut, it makes you look slimmer than you do normally" (I just called you fat to your face, everyone knows it, but you have to say thanks) So a backhanded one is surely more effective, unless you are very obviously insincere, in your insincere compliment which is surely just sarcasm?
