Yes, these are really stupid. Hubert Keller having a $5000 burger is just retarded. As for truffle oil, it's generally a sham. It's synthesized flavor and aroma. Truffles I think are also quite a sham, and flavor wise are an extremely poor value relative to their cost.

Finding truffles really isn't that difficult, and dogs are far more commonly used now. As far as I know they didn't have to do much training with pigs since it smells like sex to them. They also are not anywhere near as scarce as Mario Batali would have you believe.

What a price of a green tea? That $2,500 per bottle like a diamond price? I guess there's nothing different among the ordinary green tea than $2,500 bottle of green tea. The same vitamins you can get.
